I'm as excited as the next guy for the season to start, but I'll reserve judgement until the real season starts.
Neither the KC nor the Oakland offense are a real test of a defense.

I think some people can be apprehensive about buying into this years defense because of all the hype that surrounded Spags last year. So, to answer your question-yes, I do belive that some people intentionally hold themselves down for that reason.

A few balls bounce our way, most of the team stays healthy, and we are in the playoffs. Hope springs eternal before the regular season starts, and then the regular season starts and reality sets in.
