Well the media said & many if us were rabid about this game being a "Test".

Well - we frippen passed!!

I'm not as down on the defense as some are; thought they were decent except for that one TD drive... But the whole team have some mistakes to fix...

It was something like: Punt, TD, FG, FG, Punt, FG at the half... With our offense clicking I'm really not that worried. And if our offense could have sustained one or both of the first 2 series, I think the defense wouldn't have given up that TD. They had to have been tired after that first short drive by Drew

Our defense gave up 496 yards but we did hold them to field goals in key situations.

And the only statistic that matters: WE WON!

The thing that bugs me is that we had a good shot at an INT during their first drive. Those are the plays we need to make to succeed. Some how some way this defense has it to get some turnovers.

I'm sure we played it a little vanilla and not completely opening up our defensive playbook. With that said, I wasn't impressed with our play in the first half.

I'm glad our first team guys finally got some reps in... but I don't put much stock into the game itself. I don't see it as a measuring stick to anything.

I agree papz, a few shining stars other than that we gave up what seemed to be 8 yards a rush and Andre Johnson tore us a new one.

No, we played bleach white vanilla. We face the Falcons in week one. We are giving nothing away at all on either side of the ball. But, I see the game as a measuring stick of very base talent from top to bottom of the two squads. The Saints came out on top easily.

I agree with Asylum Guido. We're NOT going to show much with a division rival/potential division competition FTW first game of the season! We're not even playing intra conference.... it's Falcons first up.

That said, defense looked very preseason type. I'm a little concerned with the o-line play so far. So key matchups where folks got beat was disappointing, but we won't know until the season starts correct?

The didn't play like they could, but I don't believe Rob Ryan was going to show his full hand in preseason. Cam Jordan is going to be a great fit in this defense this year though.

They will improve each week, once we have the roster set.
