Trusting you has nothing to do with it... If that option were available do you think Smith would have been on the field to get hurt in the first place?

You are assuming Payton was playing Smith because.... ?

He is a veteran and Martez/Junior have not been around.

I honestly don't think he would've made the final roster unless cutting him was cost-prohibitive (which is very possible). Jay freaking Richardson has outplayed him by a mile and he's been out of the league for the last 2 years.

Have you read any of my posts? Will smith costs us 7.8M in dead money if he is cut, we have 4M left in salary cap... Do the math... That is why I said he was not a talent loss but a warm body loss. Then you went on to laugh and explain how he lacks talent..

Ya think?

Your point being?

Now he goes on IR, we don't have to cut him and take a dead money hit, and we can get a younger/faster player to take his spot if "warm bodies" are what you are worried about.

Not seeing the downside here.

You fail to see the downside because you do not understand cap, or dead money.

"This includes a player that is on Injured Reserve (IR), Physically Unable to Perform (PUP), and the Practice Squad (PS). Practice Squad contracts are included in a team’s Salary Cap during the season except in certain situations where a practice squad player is signed to another team’s 53-man roster."

Yeah, whatever, I edited my post when I realized my mistake. It still doesn't make a difference.

I rarely ever post here, but I've seen the way you operate too many times and I'm done with it. Feel free to post in a less condescending manner in the future.
