Bryan Cox sounds off
I heard him tonight on Fox Sports Radio.
When asked why the New Orleans Saints were so inconsistent... Bryan said something to this effect, On Offense, "the problem is the on-field leadership is coming from Joe Horn. And when the team needs him most, Joe comes up injured or starts to act up. Everyone else follows Joe. So when this starts to happen, the whole offense follows Joe's lead." On defense, "The Saints are probably the most talented (physically)team I have ever played with. They have guys who can play at every position. The problem is, they practice all these intricate formations, which suit the personnel, then trash it all in the game. They turn into a simple cover two defense." Now, In light of the game today. Bryan's thoughts hit me rather hard. I expected a former player to dodge the question. Maybe even come up with an "I really couldn't tell you. It's a mystery." But for him to come right out and blast the offense and defense. With solid thoughts. That blew me away. On Joe Horn, I am a huge fan. But I don't live in NO and when I hear negative coments like this, it makes me think I don't have the whole picture. Joe plays hurt, and makes big catches. So why is Bryan bashing him? My gut tells me in this case, "where there is smoke there is fire." On the defense, Bryan's comments only solidify what I already knew. Our team is lost, because Rick Venturi is lost. I remember hearing Venturi one time say, he sometimes gets confused out there during a game. That was like two yeas back, and he's still the D-Coordinator. I know the team has problems, but today's loss to AZ hurt. As a fan of the team, who grew up in Pasadena, CA... And has watched every Saints game for the past 5 years.... I don't want to watch this team anymore this year. I am heartbroken. Something has to change. |

Cox is saying, it doesn\'t matter what position the leadership is coming from...
What matters is what type of leadership |

Uh......does anyone agree? Cox would not have been the poster boy for the well behaved? Thankfully for his teams they didn\'t follow his suit. Credibilty deficient....next......any other interviews as to why our team blows?

That\'s a good point SubGuy...
Cox is the type of cancer no good coach would want on his team... Say a good coach like Bill Parcells. Plus, he was such a bad guy... bad influence... the Saints wanted to make him a coach [Edited on 4/10/2004 by frankeefrank] |
