1. Preston Parker

The Saints know what they have in Andy Tanner after watching him through much of the last three seasons in practice and preseason games. Parker and Tanner each caught two touchdown passes in one game this preseason. While Tanner hauled in his two touchdowns against the Texans, Parker broke off a 52-yard kickoff return to open the second half and spark the drive leading to Tanner's first touchdown. Being a weapon in the return game is something Parker holds as an advantage over Tanner in the race for the fifth wideout spot.

2. Khiry Robinson

The undrafted rookie free agent from West Texas A&M has performed well throughout much of the preseason and training camp. But the door didn't really open up until Travaris Cadet fumbled twice (one lost) against Oakland in the second preseason game. Robinson has rushed for 113 yards on 27 carries this preseason, and Cadet has only tallied 51 yards on 22 carries. Cadet (six catches, 59 yards this preseason) is known for his receiving skills, but Robinson's stats (5-53) aren't too far off. If Cadet falters tonight and Robinson shines, who knows what might happen.

3. Tim Lelito

Lelito, an undrafted rookie free agent out of Grand Valley State, is in the mix to possibly make the final 53-man roster. Lelito (6-4, 315) saw significant playing time with the first-team offense during the Texans preseason game as Eric Olsen struggled at right guard filling in for Jahri Evans. Lelito will receive plenty of snaps in Miami to make his case.

4. Kevin Reddick

The more Reddick has spent time learning the defense, the better Reddick has performed in practice and in games. Reddick has a real chance to make the roster with the injuries to Jonathan Vilma and Chris Chamberlain. Reddick's signature play may have been in Houston when he made a stop near the goal line on third down during the team's goal line stand. Reddick also forced a fumble against the Texans and made a special teams tackle. Those are just the things the Saints are looking for in players landing a roster spot.

5. Everyone competing at outside linebacker

That means you, Jay Richardson, Baraka Atkins and Rufus Johnson. At least one of those three will make the team, and possibly more than one. Martez Wilson should be fine to play Week 1 against Atlanta, and it would be a surprise if Junior Galette wasn't ready by then. The Saints just traded for 49ers linebacker Parys Haralson, so let's assume he's on the roster. Richardson has seen the most significant action at outside linebacker with the first team among the contenders this offseason. Johnson may be the favorite as a fifth possible linebacker as he was the team's sixth-round pick in April's NFL Draft.

In a serious note I'm sold on Robinson.. his college film and numbers were impressive even playing in a lower division. Plus seeing what he has done in preseason I think he can be that explosive runner like Ivory was for us

Players (longshots) I'm really hoping show tonight...

Rufus
Shipman
Sweeting
Reddick
Tanner
Robinson and Cadet (I hope both make it)

I also hope we see more good stuff from Humber and Hawthorne, if they even play, which I doubt.
