Which longshot are you hoping clinches a roster spot tonight?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I really like a lot of these fringe players, Robinson, Cadet, Tanner, Reddick, Shipman, Sweeting etc, but the player I hope steps it up the most tonight and clinches a roster spot is Rufus!!! He's raw as an oyster but ...

Rufus!!!
He's raw as an oyster but he's got a lot of potential and plays a position we desperately need young talent at. I'm hoping he shines tonight.

After that probably Sweeting.

Rufus johnson, I think he could develop nicely

Preston Parker - takes sproles off kick return and save him for offense, i remember preston running rings round us when he was with the bucs, he would be a great as our punt returner

I think both Rufus and Parker make the team. I would like to see Tanner but I don't think it will happen unless he blows someone up on ST tonight.

Don't say Tanner and the C word that close together!?!

Sixteen Times?!? Wow! He should earn The Ed Block Courage Award for his effort and persistence...

He's a winner no matter what happens in the coming days...

I've stated that I don't wear another man's jersey save Archie Manning, Carlton Fisk and Larry Bird, but I'd make an exception to recognize what he's accomplished so far...

But I'd love it if they started producing Tanner jerseys, no matter his status...

Andy, NO BS, you are a Saints Nation Hero and Legend, God Bless!

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: Which longshot are you hoping clinches a roster spot tonight?

Tim Tebow.

Give the man a chance. Wait, give the man 15 more chances. Hang on, give the man a new brain, a new throwing motion, and 15 more chances.

Payton needs to prove that he is the best coach and there is no better way than to make Tebow a serviceable clipboard holder when Belichek couldn't.

And it pushes the NFL/media created bounty crapola below the fold.

Re: Which longshot are you hoping clinches a roster spot tonight?

Guys I thought helped their case...
KRobinson (although the 2 fumbles didn't help at all)
Jay Richardson
Sweeting (only because I never heard his name, at CB thats good)
RJohnson
AJohnson (he looks like a better athlete than Jed)
JLeonhard

Guys who didn't look so hot...
PRobinson
White
Tanner

Re: Which longshot are you hoping clinches a roster spot tonight?

On our guys that didn't look so hot against Miami, if our starters played an away game on Sunday then another away game on Thursday we would be up in arms about not enough rest time... Because it is preseason we sort of forget about that.
