^So other teams who want to sign cut players will go ahead and get those guys. Gives us a better chance of sneaking a player through waivers that would maybe be claimed otherwise so we can get him on the PS.
Let's say the Lions need a corner and they're hoping we cut Sweeting because they like him. If we wait until the last possible second to waive him, they go ahead and sign another CB because they are desperate, and our chances of getting Sweeting through waivers to make the PS are that much better. |
