Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Segment on NFL Network where they were making Week 1 predictions and he said that Steven Jackson would run for at least 150 and that Matt Ryan would lead the NFL in passing yards week 1.
Bring on the non-believers! :bng: |
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
I don't see a blowout these two teams always seem to play a tight game against each other I think it will come down to a late FG. 4 out of the last 6 has been decided by 4 points or less

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Too bad the falcon's oline is dog ****, and so is their secondary. Good luck keeping up with Brees.
|
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
They treat us worse than the cowgirls ... Who we owned last year ... Unless Brees forgets how to put his jockstrap on they're done for
|
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
We will win 27-17, just like in my dream. I really hope my dream is right. :)

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
At the risk of getting run out of town, there is a very real chance we could lose this game. When you take the black and gold tinted spectacles off, we are up against our biggest rivals who are coming off the back of a huge season and who have made some improvements whilst in other areas going backwards.
Is this likely to be a blowout in either direction? I highly doubt it. I do however figure that this is going to be an incredibly high scoring game. The Falcons offence is potent all around and this will be the first true test for our defence. I am not going to walk away from the SuperDome this Sunday (I have mentioned I'm going right? haha) being overly surprised if they drop 28 points on us. I do however think we can keep up quite comfortably. 31-28 Saints. Hartley nails a 50 yard FG with seconds on the clock to win when everyone is expecting him to hook the living bejeesus out of it and it only go about 38 yards :) |
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Once again a prediction based on some idiot blindly throwing darts.

pfft.
Matt Ryan can throw 4 TD's for 400 yards against us, but Drew could throw for 480 yards and 5 TD's. You got 2 good offenses, and 2 suspect defenses. This will be a video game. I will be having shots before I walk into the Dome Sunday, to reduce my risk of stroke. Where you sitting, Theb-Juh-Buh? (I have no idea what your screenie is supposed to be, sorry.) Saving vocal cords now! |
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Hahaha, The B D J. Boring story, not going to tell it :)
I will be sitting up in Section 632 when I am in town this season but I actually own a season ticket in 140 (once again long story and boring). As things stand I am in for this game and the 49ers game and then the Falcons road game. I want to try and squeeze another game in the middle if possible but then there is obviously the playoffs to consider! :) Can we duke the game out on Tecmo bowl? Saints win 94-76 or something. Mark Ingram rushes for 3 miles! hahaha |
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
If this game is a blow-out, it will be the Saints doing it.

Most national media have the herd mentality. It's pretty simple: take the relative positions of the teams involved from last year (or over the last 8 weeks if in season), and project it onto the prediction. So Atlanta was 13-3 last year. They were in the NFC Championship game. The Saints were 7-9. They had the worst defense in the history of the NFL for a single season. Projection: Atlanta will do well against the Saints. Rinse and repeat for all 16 matchups. Of course the missing element to this is that neither are the same team as last year. Also missing from the the equation is that the historically bad defense from last year still managed to slow Atlanta down enough for the Saints to plunk their first loss on them last season, when Atlanta was 10-0 and the national media was already handing them the Lombardi. I've gotten to the point where I pretty much ignore the national media except to see whatever meager Saints segments they deign to serve up once a month or so. I've been scanning through NFL Live for a month. I believe the only Saints segment was when Will Smith was injured. And that was in an entire month (interrupt by the Little League World Series for about 8 days). It's going to be a close. It's always close. 1 superior offense (Saints) and one very good one (Atlanta). Two defenses that are each lacking. One very motivated SuperBowl winning head coach with 53 guys that would rather die than to lose to that Atlanta squad. Personally I see 2006 all over again. Atlanta will be wondering where that Mack truck that hit them went when they wake up. SFIAH |

If Baldy and Billick had sex they'd produce a falcon

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Baldinger has, and always will be a Saints hater. Plus he's a moron. Who cares what he thinks.

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
With no tackles and rabbit ear matty lice, it is likely to be a great day for us and not so nice for them. But it will be a basketball game not a football game.
|
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Line is Saints -3. That's basically saying it's a toss up. 4 or 5 plays decide this game.
|
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
I'm not worried until I see their O-Line consistently block Jordan, Hicks, and our LBs...

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
the falcons will go off on one thing, learning that.
THE BLACK AND GOLD ARE BACK. bald- ding-aling wuff wuff. |
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Vaccaro picks off Ryan on a potential game-tying TD attempt to Gonzales.
Saints win 28-21. Ray Lewis claims it is a conspiracy because the lights stay on for the entire game. |
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
This game is likely to be a repeat of the first game back after Katrina, as this is SP first real game since his unjust suspension. I am loking forward to a 52-2 Saints win.

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
The dome will be louder than ever before and you know we will rock the all black uni's... can't wait for this game. I would have liked to play an easier team to start the season, but no one knows what to expect from this D and thats always a good thing.
42-17 Saints win |

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Rob hasn't shown much , Payton hasn't shown much and looked great preseason , they looked horrid and went 0-4 ... We dominate them regularly , they're overhyped , were serlverly overlooked , season opener in New Orleans , Sean Payton is back , they have a paper mâché line , this is our best D line in decades , they couldn't handle Colston graham and Moore , we picked up stills and toon , they have a weak secondary we have the best QB coach combo in the league , and we picked up a ballhawk in Vaccarro ...
I'm sure you see where I'm going with this |

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
I don't feel comfortable about this game in the least. Yes, we can score at will and put up 40+points. Yes, we can lose a game in the last minute. Yes, we can commit multiple penalties. Yes, we don't even know what the starting defense looks like. Right now there are too many unknown variables to pick this as a win.
I want to see them do it but can they change last seasons defense in one training camp? Hopefully, even probably but not definitely. |
Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout

It may take them a few games to get comfortable with all the formations, but they can't revert to last years defense. If for no other reason than not playing mainly zone; that puts our secondary back in their comfort zone right there. |

Drew will show again that he has the best defensive scheme in football. The "You can't score if I have the ball" takes care of this one.

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Which leaves me in a quandry weather to start Brees or Ryan as my QB this week. Lol.

SJax has always given us fits. We have never shut that guy down - so do I think he will get 150? Very possible.

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
I think we put it on them this game. We have to hold them to field goals. We probably are going to give up some yards but if we keep them in front of us we will be ok. It appears we have a very stout red zone defense and that is what I am counting on to take this game.

Re: Brian Baldinger must be expecting a blowout
Even though these kind of statements this are absolute proof that the NFL needs better helmets, Baldinger is still one hell of a name for a football player.
