Afterward, Brooks, also frustrated, hinted that changes might be in order.
"It's hard, man," said Brooks, who completed 24 of 40 passes for 242 yards. "I know that I'm the leader of all this, but I'm tired of it. I've just got to re-evaluate my situation here in New Orleans. Until that change comes, I've got to keep fighting." Asked to clarify, Brooks' answer was equally cryptic: "I've got to look deep down in myself. But I've also got to look at what's happening around here |

i think brooks is talking about the staff here
I heard Brook\'s comments on 870 am this morning, and I agree with him. However, he should listen to himself. Im tired of watching him slide a yard from the first down marker on third down to avoid taking a hit, and had he gone airborne (instead of trying to avoid the contact, even though he got hit anyway) on that first drive he would have gotten into the endzone. After he took that hit he wasn\'t the same. The boy is afraid to get hit and you just can\'t be afraid in the NFL. Anyway this is not meant to bash Brooks. The coaching staff needs to go. McCarthy is an idiot to put it likely and Haslett can\'t get it done. I\'ve defended Venturi for a while now, and while he may be intellegent and an adequate X\'s and O\'s guy, he can\'t get the defense motivated. I\'m sick and tired of watching the defense completly ignore their gap assignments. You want to know why Alexander and Barlow had those cutback runs for touchdown. Look at the tape (i know we don\'t have access to it but work with me) charles grant overran his gap on both of those touchdowns. These guys are undisciplined and unmotivated. That falls completely on the coaching staff, and its time for a change. I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong, but unless Haslett starts bustin some head (We all know the Tuna would) this team is going to continue to p*ss away talent.

Well unless you are a Farve or McNair or even McNabb, I\'d say you are pretty much taught to protect yourself if you are the starting QB. Of course look at the injuries of the above qb\'s...

i think brooks is talking about the staff here
Isnt Brooks like 3rd on the list of most consecutive starts by a QB? He knows how to take care of himself, but he doenst know how to take care of the team... He needs to learn that sumtymes the hit is worth it to the team... Im sure he has been hit blindsided before and he will get hit again... So he needs to learn to suck it up and take a hit and show some fire to get this team behind him... I think that he shows that he is more worried about himself and not the team and until that changes he will continue to be solid QB who cant get it done... just my opinion...
