What do you expect them to say? They are "journalists" (and I use that term loosely). They have to go with the pick that is safe. Atlanta is a safe pick. Why shouldnt they pick Atl seeing as all of this is pretty much based on last years performance.

Because:
1. Saints offense out performs Atlanta's offense every year.

2. While our defense was flat on its face last season we all know the reasons; no one knows why Atlanta can't progress in the post season. Or why that grotesque defense of 2012 ended the Falcons streak.

3. Offensive weapons being equal (which they aren't, but for the sake of argument) their offensive line sucks.

4. There is absolutely zero evidence that Atlanta's defense is any better than the Saints this season. The only evidence of either is preseason.. Take from it what you will, but in an example that doesn't count we were better. 5 sacks on Matt Ryan in 3 Qtrs of one game says a lot.

Feel free to come back and provide evidence that any of those four statements are wrong.

So all things being equal there is NO safe pick.
