Brees and the offense struggled in the second half, adjustments looked lackluster

3 straight 3 and outs when we could have killed this game at 20-17, the defense held falcons on all those drives and even though they allowed alot at the end they came through for us

Harper with two turnovers!!! How many sacks did we get? 4-5?

I actually like our defense, the D line looks awesome, couple of bad plays allowed but overall a very good debut against a team that was one game away from the superbowl

Held the high flying offense that will win the nfc south to 17 points!

I thought the d played good today, very good. I thought the offense did too. The offense can play better, which I hope is a good thing.

That said even when it looked like we might lose people started blaming the defense or the offense, I thought we pkayed just a damn good football game today. Both sides of the ball. Way to go guys!!

3 sacks, one INT and one fumble recovery. That's pretty good. Defence was solid and worry not. Offense will get going.

Vaccaro looked good five solo tackles, took jackson down single handedly and the 4th down deflection of Gonzalez. Lot of poise for a rookie he's going to be special.

It was definitely a lower scoring affair then I thought it would be ... kudos to the defense, ol' Matty "Ice" looked kinda' nervous out there, :lol:.

I liked it. It was a definite change from the offense scores 42 points and New Orleans just barely squeaks by with a win game we are used to.

Of course, if the D wants to be well AND the offense wants to score 42 points, that would be ideal.

I haven't looked at the stats but our offense didn't look like they usually do.
And if Ingram continues getting nailed behind the LOS it's time to try something else. Is he telegraphing his runs?

sproles was exactly the same and they have pretty much identical stats, their DT babineux had a very good game and we couldnt run much against them

Brees was off a little accuracy wise, that INT wouldnt have happened if he would have led colston instead of throwing it to his body

D is markedly improved from last year...that didn't really need to be said. However, the team from Georgia's D is also a bit better than last year, which is why our O looked a bit out of it. D won that game, and it's proved yet again that the Saints are just simply better than the Clowns whether it's in a shoot-out or in a defensive battle. Saints are just better than that team from Georgia. Glorious.

I dont think anyone doubts that the defense won this game. I think I would say the offense almost lost the game. We were given the ball way too many times to come out with only 23 points. If our offense would have been on we would have scored in the 30s easily. Our offense kind of has had a history of starting off a little slow the first game. We have some new blood all over the place and they will gel, it wont take long.

On another note, Brees seemed to have lacked accuracy this game. He underthrew his man several times.

I will hold out total enthusiasm until I can figure out how much of it was Atl Oline as much as our D. I think Atl is going to have serious problems in that regard this year. A team like SF would have killed Ryan.

I was not overwhelmed when we brought in Ryan: so-so resume and he looks like a WWF manager.
But, great scheme today, D played with swagger, and as Albert said during the game, they had more fire and emotion today than at any point last year

I don't care if we won by one damn point. WE WON..... Were off on the right foot this season, and the Falcons are off to lick there wounds. They always play us tough in N.O. anyway.... Rome wasn't built in a day people. Brees is not going to be pinpoint accurate on every throw. I'll tell you what though, he placed that ball to colston on the 100 point mark on the dart board. You give him a steady running threat, and he's gonna be more accurate than not. No running game, the games are gonna be tight.

The thing our defense did that almost cost us the game was that they gave up the big plays. Nothing makes me pull the hair out of my head more than watching a Harry Douglas catch a long pass on third and long or watch Sjax run down the field.

RR had a good first outing. He served his time in the JJones Prison. He was released because he was found not guilty.
