When Ingram got the hand-off he was met by 3 defenders 2 yards behind the LOS. When Thomas got the hand-off he was NOT met by 3 defenders 2 yards behind the LOS. It may not be the O-line's fault, but it isn't Ingram's. |
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
ok let me get this straight
the offense will get us there not the defense your happy to trade Ingram before the trade dead line and go with two vets and two unproven backs for the season. your nuts in my book. unless the is a vet FA out there we can add to one of the most complex offense systems in the NFL and not really miss a beat. there are a few out there. Willis McGahee Beanie Wells Cedric Benson Kevin Smith Michael Turner Brandon Jacobs to name a few plus you would be doing ingram a huge favor moving him to the NYG. their OL is built for his style of running. plus they will abuse him |
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
First thing I thought, when I tuned into the Giants Cowboys last night.

Thomas is a more patient RB and that makes all the difference. Ingram doesn't seem to have the same vision, hopefully this improves as the season progresses if he stays healthy.

He is starting to pitch little fits at the end of runs and the camera guys know it, that's why they stay on him after his runs... I hope he can control himself until he either gets over his hump or leaves New Orleans.. We do not need any penalties because of it. |
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
Trading Ingram has my vote. Id rather have a draft pick in next years draft.I rather have Thomas carrying the load.

I agree, it's not the OL or Ingrams fault. Its STILL the coach's fault. Did they even throw a pass to Ingram? The Falcons just went off of what they saw last year, which was when Ingram is in, it's a run. The coach's did nothing to change that way of thought. When PT is in there, they don't know if it's a run or pass. I thought the coaching staff finally understood this in the pre-season but apparently not. The more they only put Ingram in to run, the longer it's going to be before he is effective. |

If all you do is run the ball with certain personnel in, defenses will stack the box and stop the run. Until Ingram is involved more in the passing game he will be ineffective. |

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
With all of the injuries on the DL Sunday, we might want to consider trading him for a lineman. Jonathan Hankins, 6'2" 320 lbs, was a second rounder this year and is buried on their depth chart.

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
I have been screaming to trade him since last year, and I liked Ingram and was a big apologist. Only think is who the hell is going to give us anything for him?
I do think it is better to trade him now and get a little something for him, even if its a little, then to keep him through the season and him lose even more value and wind up getting zilch for him. |
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
Sean Payton promised his son he would draft Ingram. He moved back up in the draft after telling his son that he couldn't draft him first. Payton admits that this is true. Still, Ingram doesn't fit the system......move him.

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
Part of the issue for me is that we want Ingram to be our short yardage back and that isnt his game.Teams can stop him getting the 2 yards on a 4/2.
I would like to see a big body like a Brandon Jacobs on the roster, maybe not Jacobs but that 6'4 260lb beast that can drive a D-Lineman back the 2-3 yards needed. It would allow some real aggresive play calling on short yardage plays. Obviously to too early to be mocking drafts but the likes of (below come out this year.) James Wilder Jr.*, RB, Florida State Height: 6-2. Weight: 226. Projected 40 Time: 4.64. Projected Round (2014): 3-4. Carlos Hyde*, RB, Ohio State Height: 6-0. Weight: 242. Projected 40 Time: 4.60. Projected Round (2014): 3-5. |

I want the guy to succeed but he hasn't showed me anything scents he's been with the Saints just my opinion.

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
Player get traded to other teams and have huge success in another situation or play scheme. Happens all the time. Trick is to know the right time to hold'em, right time to fold'em.
We could easily get a conditional performance pick for him, and or a player. Regardless, Sean Payton needs to figure out what, if anything, he wants to do with the guy before time runs out. |
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
Square peg round hole.

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
I have always liked MIngram. He seems to get hit by penetrating. DL 2-3 yds deep in our back field. You can tell that he is very frustrated. I keep waiting for him to breakout. He needs to fulfilled his promise soon. I am losing faith and think more and more that he is a bust.I don't see anyone giving up much to pick him up.

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
It's not like the O line blocked well for Sproles or PT either. Why are we trading Ingram?
|
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
Halo hit the nail on the head with Hold-em or Fold-em...
After 2+ seasons, we can sit and philoso-cate all of the possible issues; utilization, o-line, predictability, etc.... I sincerely doubt that Sean Payton, Mark Ingram, our entire organization hasnt covered all of the possible elements that effect Mark Ingrams production. In the end this is a Mark Ingram issue, as Sean Payton is not going to change the Saints to suit his individual needs, and he shouldn't have to. He finds a way to get it done with in the boundaries of our offensive scheme and game plan or he goes. I could care less about him being successful going some where else, he doesn't seem to be able to be successful here. Its a bad fit and he will have a chance to prove that to anyone that cares somewhere else. |
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
Giants brought in Brandon Jacobs.
|
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
With PT's signing, could Ingram still possibly be traded?!?
Reggie Bush tweeted about personnel moves and he was shipped to Miami... ...juuussst speculating... |

only difference is sproles is being let go so I think we will go more traditional running style, PT ingram and khiry are all one cut down hill sort of runners |

I see Sproles being traded today...

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
any body is up for grabs after that signing yesterday. no one is safe and cap is the issue.
ingram will do great in a run oriented offense. we need all the picks we can get to address the OL |
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
Giants signed Jennings ... not sure they want Ingram.
|
Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
The Giants rumor is at least 6 months old.
Start a new trade Ingram thread. It's bound to happen sooner or later ;) |
