Would you pull the trigger on Mettenburger?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm an LSU fan and I still say NO! He's way too inconsistent and chokes under pressure. Have you ever seen him in pre game warm up? He has trouble hitting receivers consistently just playing catch....

I think this thread is a little premature.
Gotta wait until closer to the end of the season to make judgments on Mettenburger. Also, no way to know where we draft.

Is it time to start looking for a replacement for Brees?

Man, I can't get my head out of next week much less think about that.

Don't think he last that long. If he continues on the path of improvement he's shown thus far this season, to go along with a strong senior campaign, he will shine during the off season evals and light up the combine.

He has one of the strongest arms in the nation and his touch looks much improved. Doesn't hurt to finally have someone that can coach. Cam Cameron has been a god send.

I really do like Johnny Football though, he needs to mature a bit, but his antics may just hurt his draft status enough for him to fall close to our pick. Payton will straighten him out if need be.
I have a feeling that Johnny Football is the second coming of Cam Newton. Tons of talent and 10 tons of ego. Not enough space in the locker room for his head and the rest of the team. Those types can win games but they rarely win championships.

Payton has shown zero interest in players that need to be straightened out. I tend to think that is one of the reasons that Ivory is no longer a Saint.

No! Metinburger was so so last year, and so far has had good games against no name teams this year. Lets see how he handles Alabama. I bet he has his azz handed to him in that game. I hope not, but I bet he does.

So your telling me there's a chance....
