Honorable mention NFC week 1
The 2013 NFL season started with a record setting bang and its only getting warm ! Peyton Manning has his Rocket Back ! The Saints have a Defense ! The Chip Kelly hype is legit ! And the Jags well they still suck ... ( Not all things change I suppose ) you gotta figure though all those top 3 draft picks have eventually got to add up to something ! But I digress ... Back to the juicy filet mignon if the the NFL which we all know takes us to the NFC ...
At first thought : What caught my eye 49ers : Could they have gotten any more intimidating ? Kaepernick out played Rodgers and convincingly beat the Pack opening day , something that we have repeatedly failed to do. That defense is still nasty ! A++ Seahawks : I knew this would've been a tight one. And I know Cam newton is bawling his eyes out watching Vicks career being yet again rejuvenated by an offense that he would be perfect for him while everyone around him does nothing. But the Hawks didn't look to be what the hype was about. Shutting down an offense with one receiver that refuses to play to their quarterbacks strengths isn't impressive to me. If they are really the best in the NFL it would've been very apparent. B- Eagles : Dagumm !!! Minus the cheap TD the score at half should've been 40 - 0. In an effort Chip Kelly called , too slow !? Wow ! There's talk it's unsustainable as the skins mounted an exciting comeback but it was blatantly obvious Chip took his foot off of the Gas trying to have a classy welcome party to the league ... I'd like to hear a conversation between he and Sean Payton. Tips advice since they don't play one another this season. If this is sustainable , they could easily be NFC contenders. A- ( should've kept the petal down ) Saints : Me oh my ! Out of all the defensive efforts I watched the most impressive I saw was clearly that of the New Orleans Saints. Chiefs had a good game too defensively , but the Jags O is not on the same dimension as Matty Ice and the crew. That's a top 3 offense that just got picked in the beaks by a bunch of No names that had the worst NFL defense of all time. ( galette and Ryan ). If this squad can play like that defensively and the running game gets going , this team could seriously run the table on everyone. |
You Can't Say Impossible without first saying Im Possible ...
