If they would have just punted, they probably would have won.

If they would have stayed in zone on that last drive, they probably would have won.

They abandoned the zone blitz for man coverage and Drew luckily found Colston...

Yes, way too soon.
2-0 is a great start but there is a long way to go, and Brees is dealing with a serious lack of protection and took a huge shot yesterday.

But man is it great to have Payton back.

The SuperBowl is in New York this year.

Outdoors, Winter, Snow, Sleet, Blustery Winds...

He better learn to suck it up and play no matter what the conditions for 20mil/year or whatever obscene amount he's being paid...

I'm predicting a jaguars/lions Super Bowl. Jags score on the last play and win 6-1.

As much as I would love to agree with this from the point of view that he is paid a lot of money, he just seems to play weaker in those conditions and that's unlikely to change any time soon. He's 34, not getting any better and unlikely to practice in those conditions just in case we get to the Superbowl

Having said that, we won the Superbowl in Miami. Outside. In some, at times, blustery conditions. He can step up when he needs to. Not making excuses, just putting the observation forward. Maybe if we paid him 25 mill/year he'd get it sorted hahaha

It's a good start though. Gotta think that offense will come around in a week or two.
USUALLY, by week 4 you start to see the identity of the team you are going to have that year. Their are exceptions to the rule, but if our offense is still spuddering week 4, I am going to be worried.

Re: Too soon to talk playoffs? Nope

Yes they have a vastly improved D. I agree BUT the rest of the offense, & especially the line & Drew, blew chunks for much if that game.

Is it the line or is it Drew. Does the dog wag the tail or does the tail wag the dog?

Re: Too soon to talk playoffs? Nope

Our O-line got manhandled yesterday, I personally think it was a good wake-up call for them to get their heads out of their a$$. There are better D's out there than Tampa's and if we are fortunate enough to get a ticket to the playoffs were going to see some real good D's. It's still early and we were lucky to come away with a win but we need to fix what needs to be fixed before someone takes Brees head off of his shoulders. He's taking way to many shots!!
