Re: Falcons lose

As I was watching the Falcons come back, I was thinking that if they tied that game and somehow won it in overtime, it would be a HUGE boost for their confidence and probably turn their season around.

On the flip side, the way they lost, falling short (AGAIN) at the end of the game reinforces their issues and probably finished them for this season.

Not officially telling Falcons fans to spend their Sundays on the golf course (yet), but they probably should be getting their carts serviced and be inquiring about available tee times...

The Patriots almost let the dirty boys back in the game at the end.

I wouldn't go so far as say it was "garbage time" but you could tell that the Patriots were looking at the clock and counting how many drives/scores the Falcons needed, and how effective the Patriots offense was moving the ball and controlling the clock, and I felt like Bellichick knew they pretty much had the game in the bag, and they sorta collectively took their foot off the gas for a while. Then stomped it down again at the end. Wasn't garbage time, but a lot of the Falcons comeback was borderline, meh, getting close to it. Unlike the Seahawks/Texans game, which felt and looked different -- that was a REAL second half comeback by Seattle.

I would love to be on the drugs that influenced that statement.

Build? Hey, I guess when you've sunk so low there's nowhere else but up,

That would be a shocker, but if they can beat the Packers coming up and sweep a division opponent or two, it could happen, ... and then we're right back to where we were a coupla' seasons ago with Saints/Lions in the postseason.
