So, I'm here in Arizona...

I made my move to Arizona last week. I was glad that my first Saints game away from Louisiana was going to be nationally televised, so that I could get a chance to watch it. I headed off to a little bar about a block from my house donned in my Saint gear, and ready to get my Who Dat on. There weren't many people there, just a few of the regulars according to my roommate. Here was what I thought was funny once I started mingling with them. There wasn't a single Cardinal fan in the bunch, so I couldn't talk any smack. The bartender was a Steelers fan. I could have given her hell, but she was very attractive and plus she was serving my drinks. Didn't want to screw that one up. Plus, I may have landed a job out of that deal. haha. There was a Lions fan, a Broncos fan, and a Chargers fan. Everyone there seemed to be rooting for the Saints. Especially the Charger fan because of Brees and Sproles. I had all expectations of being ribbed about being a Saints fan, but instead, I was embraced and realized that there are a lot of people outside of the Who Dat Nation that actually have a lot of respect for the team. It was a great night, and one helluva hangover today, but it was completely worth it.

People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.

funny isn't it. once you leave the comfort of the whodat nation you find a lot of warmth outside the nfc south for us.

arizona the land of transplants and that includes the football team team.

if you see a cardinal out there in the desert post a pick i do not believe they are out there

Dude, as a transplant to Indiana I have found it tough. I live among a whole lot of Bears, Packers and Colts fans and Midwest people are rude. They won't hesitate to tell you what they think about cheating Katrina referees, bounty-gate, how awful New Orleans is and why it shouldn't have been rebuilt, etc. I used to get mad and argue with them but I eventually gave up. I want to move back to Louisiana every day so much, it's almost physically painful.

But I am glad you found a place that doesn't suck.

Well, so far the test control number is low since I'm still really new to the place, but from what I've experienced so far, the people are really receptive. I'm actually living in an area that is considered a retirement community. The thing is, I've see more middle-aged people that I have elderly. I guess they are all asleep by noon when I finally get stirring. lol.

You will probably like it there in the long run. I have relatives in Arizona. People seem very laid back there.

oh god you must be upper indiana near the chitown buffer zone. if so thats is a tuff area. i lived in chitown area for a while it got to the point i did not want to wear my saints garb on game day. a physically brutal area. took months to find a club i could watch my saints saints without getting some drunk wanting to fight me because i was not wearing local colors.

once out of that great lake welfare beltway (that loop from GB to chitown to detroit) i found it a pretty cool area.

Yep, Michiana. Not far from South Bend. Just a collection of miserable human beings living in that place.

I moved down to Evansville a couple months ago, I like it much better. Nice area, still get super homesick though.

Why would anyone want to move from New Orleans? I'm confused.

Good to hear ... generally speaking folks in AZ are nice. I have spent time in Sedona, Flagstaff, Phoenix, Hoover Dam (stepping in both states at the same time ). There is something about being in American Indian country... very laid back.
