The Odds: They're In Our Favor

So I just read that Drew Brees has NEVER won a game in Chicago!

???

Say what?!?!

He's 0-4, including a game when he was a Charger.

That's enough for me. Based on this little fact I'm predicting a win on Sunday. Enough is enough.

With that logic we are due to lose the prime time game against Seattle because we are so dominant in prime time and are due for a loss. Just to play devils advocate mind you.

That's anti-drew sideways logic, and that's only true on Neptune. On THIS planet it's high time we won a game in Chi-Town...

A lotta' QBs are 0-fer at Soldier Field ... wind & natural turf notwithstanding, I gotta' think this is the Saint's year in Chicago ... just a hunch.

Payton is also winless at Soldier Field as a head coach. He may have a ring, but I'm sure there are some friends and people in Naperville and Charleston and his old stomping grounds who aren't truly impressed unless you beat the Bears at home at Soldier.

They're definitely due for it, that's for sure. Streaks and records, were meant to be broken. Time for some payback. NO TEAM THAT HAS EVER LOST TO THE TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS HAS EVER WON A SUPER BOWL, lol

My take on it is this: all that bad stuff that happened at Soldier Field for Drew and the Saints, all that bad mojo -- that was a loooooong time ago now. I look back at those early Sean Payton teams, and to me they're like the "Muppet Babies" versions of what he's doing now. The difference between now and say, the team and playcalling of 2008, is huge.

Before 2009 the Saints had never been in or won a Super Bowl.......

“Will the future bring your wisdom to me?
Or will darkness rule the kingdom for all eternity?
You will live in my heart…
I will still remember even though we are apart.
I will feel you there for me
As I walk the road of life
You help me fight for what is right
I will honour thy name”
― Nostradamus

If you don't think about the passage above too much, Michel predicts the outcome for this game. If it doesn't tell you who will emerge victorious from kitchen stadium, it's too late, you've thought about it too much and there is no going back.

Our short week to prepare just got a day shorter because the Saints are headed to chicago today instead of tomorrow to avoid hurricane Karen. That, and players fretting about their homes and families definitely spells disaster. I wish they'd just let us forfeit this one and not get anyone hurt.

These guys get to spend a lot more times with their families than a normal working man. They will be just fine and they can afford to bring their familes up for the game if they like. I am good with going early and think it will help them relax and prepare if there is an "upset" ggame I don't think this one is it.

... but we had a short week to begin with. We played until almost midnight Monday and probably did nothing other than rest and recover Tuesday. We might have gotten a little work in on Wednesday, but probably very little yesterday and none today. Compare that to chicago who played near home Sunday, got to watch us play Monday night and has been preparing ever since. I can't help but worry about all that.

That storm isn't going to do crap. Sean and the team will be ready. We're going to have to cover Marshall and slow down Forte as much as possible. Let Bennett try and beat us.

I think Thomas and Robinson will have a lot of touches and we will still throw, but not as much. I also think we will see more of Humber in this one.

But to use the same logic, I believe Drew has never lost to Chicago in the month of October...

I think what this game is going to come down to is Jay Cutler. Will it be the brilliant Jay Cutler who can do nothing wrong? Or will it be the clueless, error-prone Cutler we saw against the Lions.

I'm betting on the clueless Cutler.

I think you're right but it doesn't stop me from worrying about it. Just losing power over the weekend can cost a lot of $$ because of spoiled food and so forth. I'm also starting to see a few gas lines out there with everyone topping off their tanks and getting gas for generators, just in case.

Cold and weather have played a key in Drews 0-4 record. Not supposed to be a problem this weekend.

Sometimes, but having been a season ticket holder since the 80s, I've seen a lot of bad luck and the constant feeling of impending doom is difficult to shake. Keep in mind, the bumper sticker they sent out with the 2005 season ticket package had only a single word in gold, on a field of black. It was the word "FAITH". Katrina hit one month later.

Last week Cutler saw pressure from the middle and it rattled him, this week he's gonna' see it from the ends and it's gonna' confuse him even more ... poor Jay,.

No team had ever won a Super Bowl after losing the last three games. Or after losing to TB. We nixed that one. Time to nix this one too.

SHOW ME.

We've lost in St. Louis after hammering a Colts NFL team that was pummeled by... well.. basically the same offense.

I want to win, but you're gonna have to SHOW ME.

I've seen us lose to a 7-9 Seahawks team who thought they were something. The Chicago Bears just have to beat us and they will BE something.

STFU and show me.

I somehow feel this thread belongs in the Full Disclosure area.

FWIW, it seems the more we win, and the better we are, the closer the pessimists get to a full blown 3 mile island melt down. The only way for them to achieve internal will be for the Saints to lose.

If you gents want to live feeling fulfilled there is room on the Falcons bandwagon... They are sure to leave you feeling let down all season.. You know... that feeling you need.
