CHICAGO – Observed in the locker room after the New Orleans Saints' 26-18 victory over the Chicago Bears:
Brees unchallenged: Saints quarterback Drew Brees admitted he was "a bit shocked" to find out New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's streak of consecutive games with a touchdown pass ended at 52 on Sunday. He wasn't the only one either, I just knew that Brady was going to set a new record. I'm glad for Drew he gets to hold onto it..... For now

I didn't realize he was that close to the record. Glad Drew still has his name attached to it. But I agree it won't stand. Someone will break it with today's pass happy NFL.

The only player on the horizon who could break Brees' touchdown record is Peyton Manning who sits at 28 consecutive games with at least one touchdown pass. But he's still 26 games away from even tying the mark.
