MI active. Let the hating begin
ESPN: Strief Sits, Ingram Returns
Does anyone need some gasoline? Fire ants? Duct tape? How about an Ativan? |
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
To be honest, getting a bit bored with the Ingram bashing. It's not like all the other running backs we have, have proved that they can do what he hasn't. So I don't get it. How many times have we been 3rd and short and been knocked back because our offensive line hasn't held up their end? So let's cut the guy some slack. Whenall other running backs start making 4.5 yards a carry and he doesn't, maybe I will think again but until then you'll not find me giving him a hard time.

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
If he gets carries, I hope he does a great job.

no bash, no hate, no resentment
just want him to produce if not, stay on the bench |
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
wins cure all

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Hope he is healthy and can start running much better. Might be a good week for him to get some carries with Wilfork out.

How 'bout we talk about the offensive line making some lanes for him.

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
I've been a supporter of ingram and stood up for him for a long time
Yes the O line is completely weak when it comes to our running game and as good as PT is, he can't get anything going The one thing that annoys me about Ingram though is inability to put any power into his runs, he could have won the tampa bay game for us on a run play that was perfectly blocked at the 2 yard line, yet he got stopped at the goal line by a corner back. All our RB's are struggling because of the O line, that much is true, but watch PT when a run play is blocked well and he gets to the second level, he puts his shoulder down and churns out about 3 more yards after contact. Ingram should be doing the same |

I was sitting 8 rows from the field right where it happened, you couldn't get much traction there as the grass would just give way. He needed one block there and he would have been in. But that is history so let's look to the future and hope he gets it going Sunday. |

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
I would love to see Ingram do well. Been a fan for a long time. If he comes back and continues putting up 9 carry for 11 yard type games then he doesn't deserve his roster spot. It's that simple.
Contrary to what certain other posters insist, whatever Ingram bashing goes on is a direct result of his lack of production on the field, the same as it would be for any other player. I resent the implication that anyone who recognizes his lack of production as such is just biased as an SEC homer or fantasy football player or some other ignorant garbage that has nothing to do with his MARKED LACK OF PRODUCTION ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD. |
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Like to see him actually break a tackle for starters.
|
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Correction, and an important one -- the article does NOT say that Ingram is going to be active on Sunday, only says that he returned to practice on a limited basis. We will have to wait and see if he is on the sidelines on Sunday. That has not been determined yet.

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
I don't hate MI. I thought picking him was a great idea at the time. The truth however is he hasn't provided anywhere near the value that he cost this team.It is always easy to look back and think what might have been. With the picks we used on MI we could have picked Donte Hightower and Randall Cobb.Any GM in his right mind would trade MI for either of those guys straight up.

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Great, hopefully this means what ever was bothering him (mentally and physically) has healed and he is ready to get it done. Willfork is out so this is a prime opportunity for Ingram to gain some yards up the middle.
The perception of "hate" for Ingram is grossly exaggerated and not a term I would use to identity the feelings. Its dissatisfaction, and we really need to table expectations until after we see what he does on Sunday. |
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Never hated him, just don't like what I have seen on the field. I hope he does well, hell who wouldn't, he does well and our team is better. Problem is hes not.
Offensive line sucks but Ingram is supposed to be the type of back that can make plays when the line sucks. He is supposed to be a bruiser that can bust through and make holes when there arent any. This guy cant even win his one on ones. PT has done a little better albiet not much, but he is not the kind of back to push the pile and make holes. That is Ingrams job. He is supposed to wear down the D so it opens the pass and opens holes for our other backs to keep defenses guessing. This is running back by committee and Ingram has not been able to do what he is supposed to do as his part of the committee. |
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Khiry back to inactive?
|
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
He can be active all he wants, lets just hope that Sean doesn't let him get on the field
|
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
I don't hate Ingram (wish dude all the best) but I hate his running style. I've never seen a powerback get stood up so much in one on ones. Not even sproles (our smallest back) gets stonewalled as much as Ingram.
Ingram is supposed to be a powerback and I have yet to see it. I'm well aware of our oline struggles but when it's you and a db or you a random linebacker, you have to win most of those and Ingram doesn't. I know it hurts for those that support ingram but it's the truth. |

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
If Ingram runs poorly all the haters will be on him, if he runs for 100+ yds. he will be the greatest thing since the slice if bread. The guy needs to produce, show some want, get nasty, or anything. We need a run game. I actually have liked what I have seen so far with the limited carries Robinson has had. Ingram needs to say F-it and show his worth period, then he gets the love until then not so much.

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Be bored with all the Ingram bashing you want, but the offense has worked better without him in the lineup. End of story.

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Every time PT gets hit at the line of scrimmage he falls forward for three yards. When Ingram gets the ball he gets knocked back at the point of impact.
Every game that PT does get positive yards I always say "if that was Ingram we would have lost yards." That is just how I feel. I am an Alabama fan and was a big Ingram fan........not so much anymore. Someone used the word disappointed to describe their feelings. I don't hate him I just don't want to see him continue doing nothing. |

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
I like Ingram but how many more opportunities is he going to get...the toe, the OL...it's always something. The lanes are not going to be wide enough for grandma to run through so you have to create something from time to time. That's what a good RBs does. And they are all dealing with injuries. From what I have read on here he needs the perfect scenario to be productive which is b.s. because it's never going to be perfect!

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
OL line needs to do their job when it comes to mark.

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Sean just needs to leave him on the bench, problem solved

Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Rogers was a coke addict, Williams was head case, Reggie danced too much, Ingram can't run or stay healthy.
Quit drafting Heisman winning RBs! |
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
After 4, you would think the Saints would have learned by now
|
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
As I have posted before, IMO fans are still holding a grudge against Ingram for not scoring a TD against the Packers on 4th down, in 2011? even though everyone in the world knew what the play was going to be.
To be honest, I did too for awhile, but when I realized that not even Deuce would have been able to get in the end zone, I calmed down. Payton should have rolled Brees and a TE out, or told Brees to fake the hand off and roll out and run it in!! |
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
Uhhhh......you don't have to go back to 2011 to find something to criticize about Ingram. He's had plenty of failures much more recently than that.
Don't understand why some people are so blind to his lack of production. He is arguably the least effective regular player on the roster, both offense and defense. |
Re: MI active. Let the hating begin
It amazes me how stupid Saints fans are.
