OFFICIAL SAINTS VS. PATRIOTS GAMEDAY THREAD

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Playcalling is the problem huh? Brees misses Toon. Brees throws a pick in the opponents red zone. Brees is off practically all day. He lucks up when Stills makes an amazing play. Throws the fade to Colston. Why? Who knows. ...

Throws the fade to Colston. Why? Who knows. But it's play calling...no. Its those days when Brees has retarded ass decision making. That and fake penalties at key times.

Touche, that pass to Toon was brutal. But that fade to Colston at the end there was a bad call. It was like they were using 'Ask Madden' play calling.

Brees didn't have to throw the fade. Colston wasn't the only man running a route.

True, he had his backs open underneath all day. He always does, and when he goes to his check down routes our offence rolls.
What I'm saying is that whole drive and the one that followed were far too predictable. Run some short passes on 1st down and get a little outside the box, not just dive up the middle for 2 yards and then go for a bomb.

yep he has a game or two every year like this. not his best outing by far.

play calling was an issue. first half was loaded with to many plays to force the ball into players. Maybe Drew like Tom is not comfortable with the young WR yet. this is a game if Lance was around i think he would have had a great game

Brees forces that **** on his own. Its his job to decipher the defense and throw the best option. Not the coaches.

you know with all this ranting back and forth what do think about Drew's faith in the young WRs. in a game like this in the past Drew would turn to Lance in a heart beat. At times it just appeared drew was hesitant to throw the ball. Very un Drew like. i am starting to really give this thought some credit as to why Drew looked so off. Comfort level is just not there yet when depending on the young bucs.

So maybe SP and Drew were both thrown for lope when NE forced us to go to our young WR. just killed our rhythm all together. no that is some thing NE would do. take Colston and Grahm out and take advantage of Lance Moore not playing

+1 and after watching the replay on the post game, we had at least THREE defenders in the MIDDLE of the field covering no one. Awful defense at the end.
