this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; A good team at home is always hard to beat. Brady with no timeouts, 70 yards, and no timeouts has a knack for doing these types of things. What sticks out the most is a play from the SECOND QUARTER. ...

What sticks out the most is a play from the SECOND QUARTER. 3rd and 18...really? There were plenty of "plays of the game", but this one sticks in my crawl. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.

We can blame Payton for this one. Time management down the stretch was horrible. Pats got the ball TWICE with 2:24 left with one timeout left, plus one of those possessions was intercepted. Unreal.

But, time to press forward and learn. We found a ground game, and Stills is developing nicely. There are definite positives from this game, more so than the negatives. Anybody other than Peyton and Brady at QB and we win this one. Press forward.

We'll get another shot at them ... Hint ! Brady proved why he is the Goat .. He found a weak link last seconds ... This is quite possibly the best thing that could've happened to us .... I'd rather us come out of the Bi ticked off with a chip on out shoulders rather than complacent with a target on out backs

Re: Five and One

This game hurts because we had em. 10 seconds away from 6-0, and
an impressive win vs. a power team in their own house.
Plus my kids were really into it, and I hate for them to be disappointed.

Positives: The defense looked GOOOOOD.
Offense still hasnt gotten completely uncorked. Im looking forward
to the rest of the season.

I'm glad we lost this game..... Seriously. It was one of the most meaningless games we play this season in regards to the post season dnd it shed the whole undefeated drama that was soon to start.

We were evenly matched, other than our running game finally taking off, I took nothing good or bad away from this game.... Who ever had the ball last won...

Evenly matched? It might have appeared that way on the field, but if you read the injury report, it was not very even. You can't take anything for granted, and I know I didn't, but I couldn't help but expect a much better performance.

Both sides expected a better performance. HoF QBs and Coaches on both sides of the ball.

That sounds good on the surface, and I applaud you for putting a positive spin on a negative situation, but I still don't agree.

We were much healthier than they were. If the Patriots had lost, I'm sure Belichik would have said there were no excuses. But as an outsider I can definitely say that they should have been at a disadvantage. They had some calls go their way, but even still, we left a lot of points on the board and did a horrible job against a bunch of no name receivers. Tom Brady might be a hall of famer, but we saw the Bengals show what even a hall of famer looks like without weapons.

They've struggled all year offensively, quite frankly. When it came to our defense, not only did they give up 30 points, but the Patriots dropped a ton of passes that would have made it worse. This isn't to take away from how the Saints have played overall. It's just that this particular game was a give away, and that's what's disappointing to me.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Anybody says they are happy at a loss -- does not belong here.

Go trip with the Falcons about next year.

I don't think you understand what Oak meant by what he said. We would all like to team to be undefeated through the Superbowl. That isn't going to happen. It's like the great post earlier on, we get to fall off the radar, heal, learn from our mistakes, and prepare. It was a great game. The end was funky but we took their TO's and it came down to 1 play that Greer almost made. The team will be better for it.
