While we were sleeping (bye week)...
1 Attachment(s)
1) Seahawks have one more win than us.
2) 49ers now have 5 wins (and two losses) 3) Carolina is within striking distance in the division at 3-3 NFC Playoff Picture Time to lace them up and get on another winning streak! |
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Seattle worries me the most. I think S.F. will have more losses in the NFC than us come playoff seed time.
|
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
It would be awesome to beat Seattle in the regular season and beat them again in the Dome during the playoffs.
|
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
A **** ton of injuries happened as well: Brian Cushing, Doug Martin, Reggie Wayne, Sam Bradford, Lance Briggs…

I saw that lick on Cushing. Have not heard, but looking at it live I would say season-ending ACL

Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Once BYE weeks start you have to look at win % and not # of wins until the BYE weeks are over.
Carolina = 0 Divisional wins.. they are not in striking distance of anything. Saints are 2nd in the NFC with .833 and 4th in the League. Cushing broke his leg AND tore his LCL. he is done for the season. |

Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Besides the 49ers and Saints on their schedule the Seahawks have a cakewalk the remainder of the year. It is going to be difficult to keep up with them unless we beat them at their house and keep a good role of winning going.

Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
We do NOT want to go to Seattle again in the playoffs.

While we are on the injury topic, is there any news yet about Jimmy Graham?
|
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Good news is we won't be the topic of every show when we come back.. people will be buzy talking about Pats or Broncos.

Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
We could still be the top seed if we beat SF and SF wins at home against Seattle. SF can really beat everyone else. I think Seattle could lose at Atlanta additionally. We would need to be 13-3 though. Meaning we cannot lose again until we go to Seattle.
|
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
The highlight of the season will be going to Seattle and getting revenge!
|
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
The seahags can lose to a fast, disciplined defense. There will be more injuries and we should stay focused on this week and nothing/no one else matters.
|
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
If we beat everyone on our schedule, then we're the best - we control our destiny.
If we want to send a message, we need to geaux to Seattle and drop them as we did in Atlanta a couple of seasons ago and leave media, opposition stunned at what we can do... |

Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
The Pee-hawks' schedule the rest of the way is a combined 22-35. That is against STL twice, without a starting NFL QB. They lose no more than 2 the rest of the year and are walking into the playoffs 14-2 or 13-3 with home field advantage throughout. If they beat us, they wrap up home field Week 14-15 and tank the last one. Our D will shut them down, but we better have that running game cranking, 'cause the way it's looking is that we'll play them twice @ SEA before it's all said and done.
We're gonna have a rough time @ NYJ, SF in the Dome, @ SEA, @ ATL (yes, they are down but our battles are epic), and BOTH the CAR games. CAR gives us fits every year regardless of how bad they happen to be. BTW, SEA's defense is good, but not as good as they're made out to be. IND put 34 on them. The rest? Scoring offenses of CAR (16th), SF (11th), JAX (32nd), HOU (29th), TEN (23rd), & AZ (25th). They ain't and won't play but one top tier offense the rest of the season. |
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Still way too much football left to be played by all teams to start the "what if" playoff scenarios.
|
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Im just worried about getting passed the Bills.

While we were sleeping.. goldylocks was eating our poraige.

Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Wouldn't it be funny if we met the Colts again in the SB? Just dreamin'. When we pick Sam Bradford off, someone might pay attention to him as a tackle, unlike anyone did with Peyton ( other than Tracy Porter signaling his posse to move the big guy out of the way ). But, wow, tough Sunday for Peyton, no? The Colts are looking very good this year -- and the Broncos slightly less formidable.

Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Lots of football left - and we control our own destiny for HFA - just have to win the games on our schedule.
Seattle is off this week, so a win over Buffalo puts us back even with them at 6-1. But without someone jumping up and stealing one, the Seahawks only have two challenges left - us in their place followed by a trip to the 49ers. They are going to have to majorly screw up or have big injuries to finish worse than 13-3. The 49ers schedule is not any better. They host the Seahawks and travel to our place. Other than that they will have to screw up to drop a game = 12-4 at the worst. |
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
as the game in new england showed us we must play mistake free and smart football to win the next game and the games after that.
all these teams left can beat us on any given sunday |

Carolina is 3-3 and presently 8th (Overall Record) in the NFC with only 6 NFC teams going to the playoffs they are 1 win away from being tied with 4 other 4-3 teams except for the fact that even if Carolina were 4-3 which would put them in a tie with the other 4 teams they have zero divisional wins putting them out of the playoffs. Carolina is no where near being the NFC South Champions and with out that title they are thrown into the Wild Card mix which they are not very close to being in either. Look at Carolinas remaining schedule.. Do you think they have much of a chance (over 50%)? 6 Divisional games 49ers Patriots Dolphins Jets |
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
carolina is hot right now and they have always given us fits like tampa. Atlanta is different we expect a slug fest.

1. Seattle Seahawks NCW 6 1
2. New Orleans Saints NCS 5 1 3. San Francisco 49ers NCW 5 2 4. Green Bay Packers NCN 4 2 5. Dallas Cowboys NCE 4 3 6. Detroit Lions NCN 4 3 GB and detroit is the only teams we can only watch but one will eliminate the other in the playoff race for home field. that is the big prize in my book that how i look at it. the future is in our hands one game at a time and we decide whats going to happen |
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Some fluke injuries this past weekend, certainly not vicious hits, some were not hits at all. Seriously changed the chemistry of teams. I was looking at the playoff picture but I'm done with it. Carolina is not tapped out and Atlanta does not want to accept their fate. I hope the Pats game was a wake up call. Forget Seattle, another slip and we are going to be in a street fight in our own division.
|
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Presently no team in any conference has more than our 2 game lead... Even the all mighty undefeated Chiefs only have a 1 game lead in their division.
If you want to see a street fight, look at the NFC North. |
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
I think the Panthers got a little something going on, but I don't know how far they'll carry it. We play them twice in the last four weeks.
Our next two opponents just came off nice wins, the Bill's against Miami, slight win, a scrappy team--and the Jet's, our next opponent, against the Patriot's. Dallas isn't going to be a piece of cake. Right now I think the Seahawks are the best in the league, and I've been feeling that way for a while. I'm not entirely confident in the Saint's, but I feel pretty darned good about them. But heck, even Tampa with no wins isn't a pushover. I'm glad we've got a bit of a lead is all I can say, and I hope the next time we're in a situation where we need to kill some time, that they'll at least try to make a first down with some sort of pass-play, even if it's risky, rather than give the ball back. |
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
And the world kept turning....................
|
Re: While we were sleeping (bye week)...
Panthers are definitely a power house...it takes one helluva team to drop 30 points on the Rams...

Anything can happen in that dome. The falcons always find a way to make it dramatic, every single one of their games that they're trailing they always end up losing barely. Wilson teams have film on unlike Smith. Yes Seattle has a strong defense but in a 1 o clock game in the Ga dome they have a chance to lose. Seattle has played easy teams. They used Lynch early in the colts game to get a 12 point lead. They struggled at Houston until late, then they got easy home wins against 49ers, jaguars, and a little more challenge against the titans. Week 1, they had a hard time in Carolina. Atlanta isnt that defense, but their offense is at times better. This game just has trap written all over it for me. Atlanta is going to start getting it going and try to attempt to come back but us or GB will give them loss #7 ended their chances. |
