We can't get ahead of ourselves just yet

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I don't play and if I rise and fall the remaining Sundays of this season in a drunken stupor it will not effect one bloody game. Feel free to be all serious and worrisome, I'm going to enjoy life....

Re: We can't get ahead of ourselves just yet

I am enjoying the season, sure its Saints football, but I am not ready to start the mindset that we are a given to get into the playoffs either. We have only beat one team this season that has a winning record at this point. The ones we did win with the exception of the Cardinals could have gone either way. We could just as easily be 1-5. We have the most brutal part of the season coming up and every win does count. If we lay an egg and drop one to the Jets or Bills we could be in trouble.

I posted something to this effect in another thread. 11 or 12 wins is gonna be an accomplishment given the way our schedule breaks down.

Against the Bills, Jets, and Cowboys; I expect to be sitting pretty at 8-1 before the hard part of the schedule begins...

Careful Mitch. 3 good teams when they decide to show up.

We have one tough schedule ahead agreed but we are ready. As one of the threads said one game at a time.

Re: We can't get ahead of ourselves just yet

Pessimist - we have only beat 1 team of 6 that has a winning record.
Optimist - only 4 of our next 10 games are against teams with a winning record.

Pessimist - Our games were close we could be 1-5
Optimist - Out of the 4 teams we play in the rest of our schedule Dallas won 2 games by less than 5 points and the Jets won 2 games by less than 3 so they could easily have losing schedules. Therefore we only play two games against teams with winning schedules out of the next 10.

All of this BS panic about the Bills... Really? The Bills? The Bills are 3-4 and one dimensional, they have a running game.

Why is it we are giving the Bills credit for games they lost because they were close and they "could" have won, yet we take credit from the Saints for winning close games because we "could" have lost?

We won because we found way to win and the Bills lost because they couldn't. Finding a way to win is how a great team is defined.

I think its just an overly detailed way of saying on any given Sunday a team can beat you if you don't bring your A-game.

We'll be favored in 8 of our next 10 games for a reason.
