Re: Mark Ingram trade
I look at it like this. On one level, I don't think it matters whether they trade him or not. He's irrelevant. I feel like the writing is on the wall after that goal line run in Tampa Bay, that no matter what else happens, he is definitely gone after his contract is up -- he will NOT be back for a second long term deal as a Saint. There's no way he is the answer long term -- it simply can't keep on going like this.
So,this year trade, next off season trade, next year trade, or end of next year we let him walk - take your pick, doesn't really matter. Whatever makes the most sense for getting the most for him, I'm cool with that. We don't HAVE to trade him for a pack of chips right now, it's not a fire sale situation, but we don't HAVE to do anything other than keep paying him to ride the pine. He's not panning out, but if there's no glaring immediate team need that is instantly fixable by a trade (no one will trade a good O-lineman for a running back, who then needs the good O-lineman to block for him), then it doesn't have to happen right now this minute. But Ingram is the one sole guy in this backfield right now who is DEFINITELY not gonna retire as a Saint. |

Re: Mark Ingram trade
Pierre continues to be our best RB and Khiry continues to prove himself capable of relief duty. As far as I'm concerned... Bye bye Ingram. Even if he isn't traded he's an afterthought in my mind.

Re: Mark Ingram trade
I would just get rid of him to get rid of the cap space. no need to get anything else. That in and of itself would be brilliant of us
