Refs Suck
I don't make it a habit. But to me this group of refs are either incompetent or just trying to prove some kind of point. Not just against the Saints also. So it is the rules or the refs?
“How can that be a false start?” Pereira said. “Come on. That’s not enough for a false start. And not only do they call him once, they call him twice.” False start penalties on Drew Brees raise eyebrows | ProFootballTalk |

Re: Refs Suck
Too many rules that are left up to the discretion on who calls them. Makes it very inconsistent even in the same game.

Re: Refs Suck
Hate to say it, but things have gone to the crapper since the institution of instant replay. It's second guessing everything. Before instant replay, refs and their calls were never great, but they were never this bad.
I can hardly think of many games before instant replay where you could say the refs had such an influence on t he game that they were a factor. In modern times, it's just the opposite. Refs are injecting themselves into the game like a 3rd party player, fueled with a new handbook of rules that are dictating how players can actually hit and play the game. I think it goes too far and the game is not as good for it. |

Re: Refs Suck
I honestly think as in the case of a saints v bills that the refs have been told hey if better team doesn't pull away early, then keep it interesting until they do. another person had asked this already but I never saw if anybody answered why aren't the grades the refs scored on games made public? And if they are is there any site that has that.

I think the league just needs to do a better job in training their refs. And, even though I don't like this idea, fairness would be served by more calls being reviewable -- and challenges should be utilized more. Mike Pereira must feel pretty idiotic sitting there saying sh*t like -- wow that was a bad call -- especially when the game turned on the call. I actually wonder how can they live with themselves -- when you consider that these games mean so much to these players -- that they risk their health, possibly their lives to win the game. You'd think that would inspire the officials to take this sh*t more seriously. |
