Yup, I'm gonna have to take a page from Danno's book and say that having Harper in the box would have been a big boost today too.

What a f*cking waste.

Oh well, maybe we'll actually draft some OL players this year and have a chance next year.

Edit: Bellichick really showed how to beat us. Anyone with any sort of DL is going to own us for the rest of the season...(i.e. Seattle and SF).

Holy **** Man, did you come straight from the Falcons boards? The Jets beat the Pats to, is their season over?

Spot on. Running 13 times in a game isn't gonna get it done. We need a better game plan next week.

Dominated in all phases of the game. -2 in the turnover battle and more penalties against a team that has been awful with turnover and penalties is inexcusable. Defense couldn't stop the run even though the Jets didn't challenge them vertically the entire game. Offense was sloppy with drops and no protection. I hope Payton rips into this team because we have our toughest part of our schedule coming up and if we play like this we are going to have a long month.

That was an outstanding defensive line we faced today; wanted Wilkerson in the 2011 NFL Draft, we took Cam Jordan instead; had a second opportunity to get him, we took Ingram, d'oh...

Definite team loss...

Missed Field Goals, Terrible Offensive Line Play, Dropped Passes, Weak Arm Strength, Poor Route Running, Incomplete Tackling....

No, I'm just a realist. Watched way too much football in my life to not know how these things go.

For the record, I don't think that Pats are going to do anything this year either. They'll make the playoffs because they're division is bollocks, then go one or two and out...just like us.

The Toon drop behind the secondary down the sideline was an easy first down or maybe a TD, but instead we punt. Then Toon's "doink!" that he deflected up was picked by Cromartie. 2 plays that Colston typically makes. It was Nick "Car" Toon today, as he just looked pretty dang silly; he grabs those 2 passes we are set. Need Colston back badly, and we really missed Sproles when it came to getting first downs. Plus missed M. Jenkins today.

Add payton to that ripping cause his play call at times is just bad and the fact he has no hint of running the ball to keep defenses honest is just dumb

Looked like he didn't even need to dive on that first dropped pass. Could have just ran through the catch and went for the TD

Stills is definitely a keeper, Colston under contract, but can't seem to get healthy; Moore will be re-signed; Meachem, former first rounder, looks fine as a no. 5, but we still need to find another tall wide receiver with good hands...

Hurtful, dude.

I love the Saints, that's why I'm so freaking frustrated. I was calling for OL support since last season when Drew was getting obliterated on a regular basis. They did nothing to bolster it and now it's coming back to kill us.

We've probably got one more good year with Drew and it drives me nuts to think that they're not going to get another championship before we start rebuilding.

Can you answer honestly? Did you expect the Saints to be 6-2 before the season started?

Wait, we've already got folks saying the season is tanked? Dang. It's pretty bad that we're sitting 6-2.

However, if we continue to run TE reverses on 4th and short it may just be a long season.

Chin up, we simply got beat on both sides of the ball by an up-and-down team on the road. I've also watched a lot of football in my life, and if were a Haslett-AB "led" team, I'd consider this year surely tanked.

I have too say if Drew wants another ring he is going to have to drop some of that big salary or he is going to spend more and more time looking at the sky.
We are ging to be close to the cap again and will loose more players if he doesnt.Cash or a shot at a ring.

Id be tempted to be agressive and just go all out in the draft for a Tackle to anchor one end.

Next year Brees,Grubbs and Evans eat up $38.5ml of the cap between them

No, I thought we'd be 5-3 at the half-way point. I thought we'd lose the Falcons game, just because it was the first game of the season and I didn't think the d would be clicking yet.

Full disclosure, I also thought we'd lose to the Bucs and win at the Jets.

Beat me up however you want.

lack of catching, poor execution(penalties), missed tackles aren't Paytons fault...

No, just saying no one expected we'd be 6-2... Even you just said 5-3, relax we'll be fine no need to worry and ***** about it when there is nothing you as a fan can do to change it

no but not running the ball more than 13 times calling a end around with a TE and going to jimmy grahm all day are things he controls

Last time I checked Graham had 9 catches for 119 yards and 2 TD's so I can see why he was trusted.

How've we done in the playoffs on the road so far?

What do you need to win on the road in the playoffs, especially in the cold?

Our chance was to win all games at home, then split with SF and SEA, then maybe lose to Carolina or Tampa on the road and beat all the inferior teams on our schedule. The last two is where we've cost ourselves. Losing to the Pats and the Jets is inexcusable and will cost us.

I really, really hope I'm wrong. A lot. Then you can all kick the sh*t out of me and tell me how stupid I am and I wouldn't care because the Saints are winning. Right now, though, I don't see it and it's p*ssing me off/bumming me out.

Grubbs won't be on this team if he keeps getting tossed like a kid...

Evans will still be here, but he does need to rededicate himself...

Yes, Drew is on the decline, that is a reality of age and his past injury...

But Brees in decline is still better than anything we have on the roster or that is available in free agency...

But, no, Brees is not worth 20mil/year - only Payton Manning has played that way this year...

And an honest conversation needs to be had with Drew about a reduction of his salary cap hit and the future of acquiring players to continue success for the franchise...
