LOL some of ya'll crack me up, but hey it's a message board so vent.
Don't know about all that season over stuff, tell the Saints that in 2011 when we lost the Rams - here's my take.

DAMN SLOPPY play on offense. That includes QB, O-line, wide rec drops, bobbled balls etc. Nothing consistently bad, but failures at different points on offense.

Play call is only as bad as your players are bumbling and dropping the balls and throwing behind receivers.

Oline, I blame the less because Jets d-line is crazy good.

Defense, I just can't blame them! They hand the ball off to the offense and all I see is 3 and out or drop drop drop, pass behind the back, mental errors.

THAT OFFENSE NEEDS TO CLEAN UP THEIR ACT!!!

I agree he's trusted and should be but there are other guys out there. Just seems its becoming a one man receiving corps out there

Sean Payton doesn't control ball distribution. Drew Brees does. Jimmy Graham is NEVER the only player running a route on a play. Brees usually always has a check down option open. He just doesn't take them as much as he used to. Ever since we got Graham he began force feeding him the ball. And we got down and abandoned the run game to conserve clock. Which worked. Just didn't execute on the last drive. 3rd and 19 and Brees lofts it up even though its 4 down time? Instead of trying to get 4th and decent, he throws it up for grabs. This was all about bad execution. Even on defense.

The thing that annoys me is we were really running the ball well today and they just wouldn't stick with it. When your top two running backs are averaging 4.3 ypc between them you need to be pounding that rock. PT looked amazing today and if we find more ways to get him the ball I think we could've won.

Yes, Drew is on the decline, that is a reality of age and his past injury...

But Brees in decline is still better than anything we have on the roster or that is available in free agency...

But, no, Brees is not worth 20mil/year - only Payton Manning has played that way this year...

And an honest conversation needs to be had with Drew about a reduction of his salary cap hit and the future of acquiring players to continue success for the franchise...

I dont see anyone trading for Grubbs and his $9.1ml salary,we cant cut him with it costing $9ml in dead money in 2014 and even $6ml in 2015.

I know Loomis is good with the cap but he has been pushing the salaries back and back for the past few years and its now going to bite him in the backside if he doesnt sort things out.I get that the idea seems to be stay competitive while Brees is still here but at some point somethings got to give.
Its either sticking with it and hoping that we draft well enough to fill holes and hope players take pay cuts or dare i say it get ready to start moving players on and building from stratch with additional picks and vastly reducing the cap

Running must be paramount next week against Dallas. We are a bit too pass happy for my taste ... on the other hand the Cows are one of the worst in pass defense so far this year. Worst d performance (shedding blocks, tackling etc) this season but hopefully they get it together next week.

Regroup, refocus and get back to fundamentals. Hopefully that is the last 'ugly game' we have this year.

Should be an interesting match up next week.

I can't disagree with this.

What I will say is, the Saints under Sean Payton have never been known as a ball control, running team. What I do notice is imbalance in pass vs. run. We start throwing every down in the 1st quarter!

I think we CAN run the ball. We ran into this in 2010, where in 2009 we had balance of pass vs. run, like 60/40. In 2010 pass vs. run was like 70/30 or less. We MUST try to gameplan the run and not just run when it's 3 and 2!!! (and sometimes then we just throw the ball)

Shared Loss, Including Coach Payton...

No excuse for not running the ball more, none.

Running the ball allows your offensive line to body punch their defensive line and wear them down.

It also allows your quarterback to settle down...

So is there a Lesson to be learned from the Grubbs signing?!?

True dat. Anyways, 6-2 and we're still on top of the south. We're gonna be fine.

I know in all my years of watchin or playing football any time the Qb throws 50 times its never a good thing.

defense breaking down again on away games and turf against a bad offense, our Achilles heel. OL was manhandled. Rookies poping balls up for free interceptions, and dropping others. Losing key players. Weird play calling by SP to be cute.

Im just wondering how it was that close. Seahawks would have made us look like a highschool team, if this happens again. Jets are not a great team.

But Pherein, the Seahawks are losing 21-7 to the Bucs. I just don't see how the Seahawks would have made us look like a high school team.

Last I checked, they lucked out and barely beat the Rams. Now they're down 21-7 to the Bucs going into halftime?

They will in their house if the defense plays like that. You know thats true. Jets offense is mediocre at best. And what about the Broncos in the SB , if we make that on away turf in NY? Our D cant keep on having bad games on away turf, like SF and SH. Its why we lost both playoffs.

Re: OFFICIAL SAINTS VS JETS GAMEDAY THREAD

-Geno had 8 completions and the Jets won.
-Brees threw the ball 50 times and the Saints lost.
-The offense is way to predictable.
-Thomas and Ingram had just 10 carries between them, averaging 4.3 ypc, despite being up 14-6 at one point.
-The 4th down call to Hill was absolutely horrible.
-Asking Brees to throw 40+ plus times behind the average o-line is going to get him hurt.
-Colstons presence on the field is important.
-Toon doesn't seem to have good enough hands to play in the NFL.
-Having Moore retun punts is useless. Anyone can fair catch the ball. Promote returner Williams and cut Dawson.
-Today was the worst tackling job by the Saints this year.
-The Saints defensive scheme seemed tame today.
-The Jets have no WR's, a street FA TE, and they were still able to pound the Saints with the run. Their only option to move the ball. Not good.
-Vaccaro needs to be/get healthy. I love the way he plays the game, but his body is taking what he gives.
-Seattle and San Fran are better teams than the Saints. They both pound the run, are physical, and can rush the passer on defense, while having dynamic, athletic QB's. Can the Saints beat them? Sure. But, it's not likely on the road.
-Not to overlook the Panthers who are playing very solid football in the division.
-The Saints six wins have came against teams with a combined 17-31 record. One with a winning record in the 4-3 Bears. The Saints two losses have came against two teams with winning records.

so the teams a fake held together by what, Brees ? common, we have problems like all teams, but we are a good team. But if we dont fix that away defense on turf problem...
Most cast us as a weak Dome team, but the truth is our defense is weak outside of a Dome, not the offense.

Ivory's big run off the Jets goal line was because of a missed tackle...watch the clip...

We got physically whooped on the lines of scrimmage; defense made adjustments in the second half...

But we just got whooped...

Grubbs has joined Brown on my $hit list; guard being paid that kind of money should be dominant, not dominated...

de la Puenta is on deck...

Evans is the only guy who's playing well, now healthy, and he got hit with a penalty - d'oh...
