Pro Football Talk says Saints' defense "not particularly talented"

Sunday night wrap-up: Brees, Saints offense rolling | ProFootballTalk

LOL.

Wonder what exactly the Saints have to do before people wake up. LOLOLOL. They are not perfect by any means but to say this team is "not particularly talented" on defense is just about the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

The whole article is fraught with downing the Saints in general. Darrin Gantt is a terrible writer and never passes up an opportunity to bash us, even after one of the most dominating wins in recent memory.

Re: Pro Football Talk says Saints' defense "not particularly talented"

Ryan’s never proven to be long-term sustainable as a coordinator, but the difference he’s made in the Saints defense has been profound.

They’re not a particularly talented unit. They don’t have to be. But he’s helped the league’s worst defense ever become respectable at times, and that’s enough considering who they’re playing with.
Doesn't make much sense, but whatever... Haters gon' hate...

Re: Pro Football Talk says Saints' defense "not particularly talented"

I would just like to hear the rationale behind calling a defense with players like Cameron Jordan, Junior Galette, Curtis Lofton, Keenan Lewis, Jabari Greer and Kenny Vaccaro is not particularly talented and especially not when they have been one of the league's top defenses all year long.

As my dad would say "This guy is eat up with the dumba$$."

He also wrote:
But they’re also close to being dangerously thin at tight end. That was underscored when backup Benjamin Watson hit his head on the turf in the third quarter. He was diagnosed with a concussion, and didn’t return. Watson had three concussions in 2011 with the Browns (the third one landing him on IR), so there’s always going to be a concern there.

Jimmy Graham is getting by despite obvious pain, as his foot injury seems the kind of thing he’s going to have to manage all year.

So as good as they look at the moment, there’s still danger lurking around the corner.
If the guy knew ANYTHING about the talent on this team, he would know that Jimmy Graham is a tight end in name only as he doesn't do much blocking at all. Graham is a wide receiver, pure and simple.

According to his math, we're always dangerously low on tight ends. That's if we used a tight end like other teams do. SO, consider the source!

He probably doesn't also know that Josh Hill has been playing a lot and looks pretty decent. And is of course being pessimistic about Watson. Watson didn't look bad walking off, I would bet money he plays next week.

I find that the only decent football site to be walterfootball.com, the other ones always seem to be fighting for the most redundant site ever award

Re: Pro Football Talk says Saints' defense "not particularly talented"

the whole 'considering who they're playing with' comment certainly refers to the fact that we don't have many overpriced free agent acquisitions like osi umenyiora or deshon goldson. cause those guys turned out to be really, really good signings
