Turley sure had his own share of problems, but this guy is even worse. I know that Gandy got beat tonight too, but this Riley... he\'s just downright bad. He either jumps too late and allows the defender in, or he jumps too early and take the flag. What gets me is that this is supposed to be a -fixable- thing, fixing false starts with proper coaching. But it\'s been going on for so long, and nothing has been done to correct it. Haslett is done. |
can anyone help me id this tune? it goes thwap thwap boom tch boom tch boom tch.

It is time to put Spencer Falou back in. Spencer wasn\'t that horrible when he was the starter.

I agree Bayouking. Were Folau and Riley neck and neck in training camp? Bench Riley for awhile until he can understand a snap count and put in Folau for a series or two. And what of Stinchcomb? Is this guy that bad. If he can\'t play, cut him.

As much as I like Gandy for his leadership qualities, his play has been mediocre to bad from day one and he\'s getting the big $$$. Unfortunately, there\'s no one left to put in at LT, but I sure would like to see Stinch at RT the rest of the way. We might as well find out if he was another wasted second round pick or not now rather than next season.

Why won\'t we bench anybody?
What kind of message does it send our team when we continue to have sloppy play from Riley, and Tebucky, and keep them in. Why should they try harder? Haslett has ridiculous faith in those two very diassapointing players. I wish we could have traded those two and got a real run stuffing DT, before the trading is done. |

I\'ve heard some people say that Riley\'s jumping offsides is partly because of LeCharles hesitating on the snap...I doubt it\'s true, but it\'s not completely impossible, is it?

Yes, it\'s entirely possible. The only thing that makes me wonder is why don\'t the other linemen jump also?

Lineman have to know everything about what the defense is showing. What players might be blitzing? Which way might the lineman slant? Will this tackle rush the passer or plug gaps? How do I get off of this lineman to get to a LB? Simply put, all 5 lineman have to know exactly what\'s going on, and knowing the snap cadence becomes more of a secondary importance. Guards can still see the ball snapped out of the corner of their eyes while they\'re breaking down the defense. Tackles, however, cannot. Theyt line up too far away from the ball to see. So that may be why Gandy and Riley jump offsides more than Jacox and Holland, but I could be wrong... |
When it comes to discussing Saints losses, Jack Daniels can be a great listener.
