What you done for me lately?

Remember Tracy Porter, complete hero in our SB run, consistently got beat in 2010 and 2011, we let him walk

So did the broncos after us

Time to cut ties with Hartley, his best moments are a distant memory now

IMO, anytime a field goal is attempted, the offense has failed.

Do you remember why he was 100%? He was on a banned substance.

Why has his accuracy dropped 20% since that year? He got caught taking a banned substance and suspended.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/...arrett-hartley

So I have some questions for you:
Do you condone steroids also? Adderall for Hartley is performance enhancing.

Since needing to kick a FG is a failure of our offense in your opinion, we should just give up and not have an accurate kicker? If it's not a TD it's not worth our time? Heck, if 3 isn't worth our time why even try for safety's and extra points.

My heart in 2009 didn't drop to my stomach because Hartley had just come off of a performance enhancing drug 100% season and I had yet seen his subsequent 2010,2011,2012,2013 failures.

C'mon man.... Your smarter that that post.

I dunno He sent us into the Super Bowl and made his kicks there, he's in a funk the missed fg at jets was wind aided and just narrowly missed sunday night( which would have gave the boys a 50 BURGER! I'm not happy about his misses this season but I feel like he'll come around maybe 2 more misses and goodbye but he should be on a short leash these next few weeks as we need to tap the 49ers,seahawks and the rest of the schedule's AZZ, Should they so happen to acquire the services on a Neil Rackers then I'll take 2 k's and loose cadet he's a muffed kick/ touchback machine and although I've seen what he could bring to the team he hasn't produced I see him like a failed project a la Adrian Arrington shows talent and gets raved reviews but game time comes he doesn't produce or show up that's a valuable roster spot we could use to improve our team to sign a quality vet or pull a lineman from the PS. Bryce HArris was the top rated OT this preseason before we snuck him on the ps, ED REED is a free man now a days WHat say you who dats YE or NEH Ed Reed. I say if his neck is ready to go YE!

Hartley has missed 4 of his last 6 field goals.....

We are about to face Seattle, 49ers, Carolina x 2, where every point could matter.

Let that brew for a while.

You can keep taking out that 4 year old Championship t-shirt and noticing how faded it is. I want a new one with 2013 on it.

Agreed, how many more chances does he get?

It only takes one more opportunity for him to screw up HFA for us......again

enough is enough, every point matters

Seattle, san fran and carolina aren't going to roll over like dallas did, if something doesn't happen soon i can 100% guarantee....yes guarantee, that hartley will cost us atleast one of those games and give seattle HFA instead

What will happen is he will miss one when there are no points on the board then our offense will not be able to tie or win a game on the final drive and guess who gets roasted for the loss?

I was coming back to edit... And add :)

Many Hartley fans like to throw out "I trust the Front Office's" decision... Well, at this point his accuracy is bad, and the coaches don't trust his leg as evident by the 3 kickers being tried out in week 11.

What say you now?

I don't understand the "I trust the Front Office's decision" when it comes to a guy like Hartley

What, are the coaching staff saying " miss all your kicks now and the teams will be suprised when your automatic in the playoffs"

Every kicker misses a couple kicks a season, but in a dome....no weather factor and he's still missed his 4 out of his last 6

Dempsey holds the record for the longest FG and is still alive
Anderson has won more games for the Saints than any kicker in our history and is still alive.

If you want to hold on to Hartley for what he did 4 years ago on PEDs we may as well hold those two in the same regard.

Problem is, if the Saints don't pull the trigger then Hartley has that much more pressure on his fragile psyche.
He may just completely wiff the next attempt.

Both the Lions and Packers passed on him. So I'm not sure what they did or didn't see in him.

Okay, I don't like it either that Hartley is missing kicks but both Graham and Rackers missed at least 6 kicks their last season that they kicked. The same amount as Hartley. All of these kickers worked out for Houston last week and none of them were signed and Bullock has missed at least 8 kicks this year including 3 in the Colts game that they lost by 3 pts in so it doesn't sound like they were too impressed with them. Ride it out the rest of the way with Hartley and sign a new kicker next year. I don't care if it was Dallas, if Brees is on the money like he was Sunday night, all we will need Hartley for is extra points.

When you say the same amount as Hartley that is only in 9 games brother. Rackers missed 6 in 16 games.

Rackers banged out 86.8% his last two years in Houston and he has only missed 2 games in his last 6 years.

Garrett Hartley NFL Football Statistics - Pro-Football-Reference.com

Hartley's accuracy is one thing, having to carry a second FG kicker for 4 of his 5 seasons is yet another.

There is no comparison of the two. All that is left is to see how he does in tryouts to know if he still has it.

Re: Saints Work Out Kickers

Shayne Graham is an 85% career field goal kicker but he doesn't have as strong a leg as Rackers did and Rackers is something like 90% over his last four seasons. Either one is perfectly fine with me - although I still remember that kick Rackers blew against the Packers at the end of regulation during the 2009 playoffs.

But either one is fine. Either one would be better than Fartley.

I miss John Kasay. I really do.

I wouldn't hold a missed kick from 2009 against Rackers, like I wouldn't keep Hartley for a FG made in 2009.

Sorry didn't see this question initially.
My heart was in my throat for totally different reasons at that point in the NFCC game that year. I felt good in the Superbowl because I thought we had a Morton reincarnation at that time, he was awesome.

HOWEVER, it all started with the Atlanta miss that cost us so dearly later in the season that planted the seed of doubt that every miss since then has fed making it grow into the enormous tree of doubt it is today.

If he had started splitting the uprights consistently this year, great. But nailing a 55 yarder outside in the cold and then going on a 2/6 streak just screams nutcase. He is more consistent on the road than in his own back yard. In a close game when we have to have three points, I just want a chance that doesn't depend on whether or not he is on his meds.

Only thing I want to point out is look at a kickers stats from year to year and look at all the peaks and valleys. There are very few that stay consistent. Take Rackers for example, he's had years of being only 57% or 60% to having a year of 94%. Kickers are a strange breed.
