49ers’ Reid considers altering crushing style of play

Man I hate hearing about these young guys getting these kinds of injuries. Even "old" pros are just young men who have a long life ahead of them after football. It's one thing to spend the rest of your life with gimpy knees and achy shoulders but a damaged brain is a whole other story. (look at Steve Gleason.)

You can change the rules all you want but as long as it's football heads are going to bang together. Time for the NFL to spend some money on figuring out how to improve the equipment. Are they too short sighted to realize what a negative impact this is going to have on their business? The way it's going now athletes of the future (or their parents) are going to figure out that there are other sports they can play that isn't going to leave a bunch of them with scrambled brains.
