San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints: Three Bold Predictions
Just about every year there is a week eleven or twelve game that is a season defining event. This year it is Niners vs Saints in the Dome.
Two teams with similar records, but decidedly different feels to them. The 49ers are coming off a tough loss at home to the surging Panthers and the the Saints just totally destroyed a reeling Dallas team. This is a make or break game for the Niners, as they will likely face the Saints again in the playoffs. In the dome. Where they destroy teams. The 49ers' simplistic offense has not functioned well against complex defensive schemes, nor has their quarterback, Colin "Two reads and run" Kaepernick. Rob Ryan is a tool as a person, but he clearly has the Saints playing good defense. The line in the sand will be drawn on Sunday, here is what we can expect. 1. Drew Brees and the Saints will continue to be unstoppable. The Niners will scheme for him, blitz him and harass him. They will take away Graham. He will go to Sproles and everyone else. The array of weapons the Saints will throw at the 49ers will simply overwhelm their defense. The Niners are bringing a knife to a gun fight, thats never a good idea. 2. Frank Gore will be the man as usual. All year, every game he gets the tough yards, catches everthing thrown to him and basicly carries the team on his back. The single most underrated running back in the NFL, he will have at least 100 total yards and score. It will not be enough. 3. How Colin Kaepernick plays this game will define his season. Expectations have already been forgotten for the next big thing in quarterbacks after his fantastic display in the latter half of last season. He has in no way lived up to all the pre season hype. Win or lose, he must be the difference maker that the 49ers drafted him to be. He must make an impact, with his arm as well as his feet. He must lead this team to battle if they hope to go anywhere in the playoffs. No more Mighty Wings for you son. It's gut check time. I agree that Frank Gore is under appreciated. And that he'll give us Hell on Sunday. But mostly I agree that it will not be enough.

More like one prediction a statement of the obvious and a question to me.

Re: San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints: Three Bold Predictions
we have to defend our house, we have to make a statement to all nonbelievers, i'm sick and tired of hearing we can't win against winning record teams. this is it i'm all out fired up for some revenge on them bastords. drew brees , grab ur akorns and get crackin. grahm, repeat what u did to them in 2011. to the big defense, tap some kapernick asre. special teams, yea u squirrelly foot ,do ur job. and we all walk into the playoffs feared like the fee-foe-lay.

When I look at this matchup I think about that 2011/12 playoff and expect much the same, but with a different outcome this time. It's classic "boxer (Saints) vs puncher (Whiners).

Whoa. "Rob Ryan is a tool as a person..."
Lots has been written about Rob, but no one has put something like this in print on his byline. Maybe he's threatened by humans, as most pond scum is. Let's not promote this double nozzle. |

That's the first thing I noticed too Xan. I think this guy is showing his own toolness by calling out Rob Ryan.
