Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
We are playing again in 3 days... In Atlanta on Thursday Night.

Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
Should be an easy win. But its our Saints, who knows what might occur.

Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
If Drew can turn his head, we win.
|
Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
Tampa gashed them running the ball. Ingram and Thomas need at least 15 carries a piece in this one.
|
Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
I look at it like this. I think it will only take 4 or 5 big plays by the Saints to beat Atlanta. Could be either on offense or defense, but you know, BIG PLAYS, game changers, "wow" moments, Saints fireworks. Four or five of those types of plays, should be enough to do the job on a demoralized but still physical Falcons team. And the way we are playing now, I think we can muster that up.
|
Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
We can beat them like a drum. Problem though is that we have been making a ton on bonehead plays lately that keep teams in the game. I'm speaking to you Mr. White and Mr. Moore.

Blank gives Dimitroff, Smith a vote of confidence after blowout

Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
Interesting how much confidence failure inspires in management.

REPORT CARD: Falcons grades are 'wretched'
GAME BALL: We’re giving out a journalism game ball for this one to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist and neighbor Mark Bradley for encouraging Arthur Blank to address this mess and for coming up with the one word to describe it all, “Wretched.” D – Quarterbacks: Matt Ryan completed 19 of 36 passes for 254 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He finished with a passer rating of 70.8. Dominique Davis made his NFL debut and completed 5 of 7 passes for 34 yards and had a passer rating of 81.8. He left the game after taking a low hit. In the locker room afterwards, he said that he was fine. Ryan had the offense on the move early, until Gerald McCoy collapsed the line and started having a party in the backfield. Hard to blame Ryan for the pick-six as his arm was hit on the play. C– Running backs: Steven Jackson rushed 11 times for 41 yards. Antone Smith came in at garbage time and put up some numbers. He had two rushes for 88 yards to make the rushing stats look respectable. The team had 20 rushes for 152 (mostly empty) yards. Perhaps Smith gets some more action down the stretch as the Falcons will have to move away from their pass-happy offense because they can’t hold a pocket and teams are ready for all the screens and draws. On one draw to Jacquizz Rodgers, a Tampa Bay defender almost took the handoff. They’ll have to run the ball to keep the defense off the field and because they can’t pass block. “Double-wing, 38 Power Sweep, on 2! Let’s go!” Ryan might be saying down the stretch. D — Wide receivers/Tight ends: Too many penalties and dropped passes here. Harry Douglas did a nice job of padding his stats with that 80-yard touchdown run. He caught six passes for 134 yards. Gonzalez had six catches for 51 yards. White was targeted nine times and caught just three of the passes, one for a touchdown. F-minus — Offensive Line: The Falcons moved center Peter Konz to right guard and started Joe Hawley at center against Tampa Bay. The moved didn’t work out so well as Tampa Bay defensive tackle Gerald McCoy had three sacks over Konz, who was replaced by Garrett Reynolds in the game. The Falcons offensive line has struggled with pass protection all season. “Right now, it’s really not about me,” Konz said. “It’s about the team and how we can all move forward.” Hawley started some during the 2010 season, but has been a reserve this season. He’s played some as the jumbo tight end. The coaches made the switch in practice last week. Look for the juggling to continue. Sean Locklear was signed recently and could see some action soon. F -- Defensive line: Osi Umenyiora registered two sacks, but the unit was pushed around in the run game. They couldn’t get off blocks as Barry Sanders, opps, I mean Bobby Rainey, rushed for 163 yards. It was just a downright poor showing as they didn’t rush the passer and got blocked in the run game. The Bucs averaged 4.9 per carry and had two rushing touchdowns, including Rainer’s 43-yard cruise through the defense. read more |

Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
Lets face it, the only way we lose this game is if we commit numerous turnovers, numerous dumb penalties and even then Atlanta will have to catch a few lucky bounces just to keep it close.
I'm actually glad this game is in Atlanta. I think it'll keep us more focused, and lets face it... the crowd noise ain't exactly gonna be a problem. |

Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
Atlanta has the worst opposing QB rating on defense at a whopping 105.8.
Allowing 21 TDs with only 6 interceptions. Drew Brees will have a day similar to what he did vs Dallas. |

It occurs to me that I don't have NFL Network. Does anybody know if they still show the Thursday night games online?

Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
Funny thing is Atlanta is like a second home for us.. and with ATL losing season I wouldn't b surprised if there were more saints than falcon fans in the stand. Is it Thursday yet?

The poll should have looked more like this.
Do we sweep Atlanta? • Yes • HELL YEAH! |

it is the falcons. crush them.
i think we will see another game like against dallas. balanced attack |
Re: Saints vs Falcons Pregame (Thursday Night Game)
They could blindfold Drew Brees and the Saints would still win. Atlanta is awful; can't stop run or pass, not a recipe for a victory against the Saints offensive machine..

I don't want to see very much of drew brees (even though I'll be at the game). I want a strong running game and an early big lead. I want Drew well rested as well as the rest of the team before we go to Seattle.
