Re: For Those At The Niners Game
It was unquestionably the loudest game IMHO since the Payton suspension, and the first time since he's been back that I've felt like it was really a playoff-worthy quality crowd in the Dome. I'd easily rate it up there with the Eagles playoff game or a hair below the NFC Championship, which was deafening. Still the Katrina punt block of course being #1 the loudest.
The Who Dat chant was defeaning, and right on cue. What seemed really great to me was that the crowd didn't lose any steam in the 4th quarter -- the 49ers offense kept getting the ball, over and over, again and again, and the crowd stayed in it, just roaring the whole time. Last year during the "Spagnuolo era" people would just sorta give up, and stop cheering the defense.... for good reason. |

Yesterday that place was on fire from start to finish, and it felt good all the way out here in California. Made me proud! |

Re: For Those At The Niners Game
First, I want to extend my deepest apology to all the guys from the Board
who were in town, especially AlaskaSaints. I was up against the clock all weekend, and had to make it a flying trip in and out from Texas, and did not get a chance to stop by & say hi. I have to have some semblance of a voice to do my job at work, but me and my kid were giving it all we had yesterday from the Terrace. Also, I carry a Sir Saint towel, which I start waiving, just before they're about to call the play in the huddle. This is in case anyone behind me is napping or texting, etc. It worked all day yesterday. I dont want to be one of those guys who thinks he's the Section Leader, but rather, just want to do my part, and if I can help us get in sync, well then. There was one point, where we didnt realize it was a commercial break, and the Dome kept going for about 3 minutes. The players were eating it up, and waving at us. I dont know if was really us, but there were several times when we just went ape, and Kapernick would start gesturing around at guys, and you could tell he was about to call a confusion timeout. Oh, and there wasnt an empty seat, and of course, the Terrace seats are too small, and its all you can do to extend your arms... its like a mosh pit, only the floor is slippery. Anyone who knows me in person, knows im kind of "boisterous." The dome had 72,000 Me's yesterday. Our women are better fans than most other teams. I couldnt have picked a better game to take my kid. |
