Concerns in the secondary
With Greer out now along with P Rob, and the way our safeties are in and out of games because of injuries I wonder if our weakness isn't the secondary. Our defense has been very solid but I'm wondering when the opponents are going to attack our weakness which IMHO are the backups.
They have played well enough but I am concerned about them. Thoughts? |

Re: Concerns in the secondary
other great news! My thoughts are that Corey White can handle the #2 corner spot well enough. He seems to be driving at the ball a lot more aggressively and not just looking to bat it down. |

Butler practicing makes me a little happier.. I think opponents will likely attack Keenan by the looks of Sunday game. he kept getting beat by boldin but as long as the rush gets there our weakness will be less evident.

Re: Concerns in the secondary
I am not concerned with the secondary.
1. Our best cover corner is Keenan Lewis who usually covers the opponent's #1 receiver. 2. White has done a great job all season and the Saints defense didn't skip a beat after Greer went down, limited the 49ers to only 127 yards passing. 3. The Saints have a versatile secondary in which both Vaccaro and Jenkins can cover the slot receiver. 4. Carr has been solid as a dime back all year long. He continued to shine vs the 49ers. 5. Harper is back and Bush has played well to allow more versatility in the secondary with the usage of Jenkins and Vaccaro. In essence we will not see any other players on the field that haven't played all year long. Sweeting would only be considered in garbage time. We would only have an issue if we suffered another injury. As it stands now, we are fine. |

Re: Concerns in the secondary
Remember the steelers game in 2010
We had 1 active CB, leigh torrence who then got injured in that game (before making game winning pick) Our safeties played man coverage all game and had one of the best defensive performances ive seen In short, we are going to be fine |

As for white he is an upgrade over Greer. We lose depth for the nickle and dime but Jenkins and Vaccaro can fill those rolls. |

Re: Concerns in the secondary
You have nothing to worry about in any aspect of the defense, they displayed that in sundays performance

Greer tried to follow his man on the rub play and was made to look foolish falling to the ground, easy TD to Jeffery. Greer looked like the rookie on that play.
And he lets the Patriots receiver do the only thing that can't be allowed, to get behind you for the game winning catch. That was disgusting defense and cost us the game. |
