Question penalty on Ahmad Brooks all you want, but not Drew Brees' toughness

In their roles as ESPN NFL analysts, Lewis and Bruschi even went so far as to criticize Brees. Lewis called one of Brees' postgame comments "embarrassing," insinuating that he couldn't take a hard hit. Bruschi said Brees needed to "get tough," while supporting Brooks and the hit.

How many concussions did Tedy Bruschi incur during his career?

Ray Lewis is a murderer, so there's that.

It amazes me that with football being the most popular sport in America and nothing else even coming close, the sports media can't find anyone better than the numerous morons they currently employ.

Amazing.

It amazes me how they miss the 'big picture'. We all agree 10yrs ago (or more) that was a non-call, but no matter how you slice it, it's a flag & a fine in today's NFL. These guys should know that, they're watching the same games we are ... and yeah, Drew's toughness is without question ... you don't get up from a hit like that without a serious gut-check ... the comments on his height/stature were some of the stupidest I've heard as of late,.

Why can't the networks find someone who isn't brain dead to report?

True, and we have all questioned or criticized the new wimpy rules, but this is kind weird in the fact that the media isn't attacking the rule, they're attacking the call. WTF?

There is no question that the hit was illegal according to the rules. Thats a no-brainer.

Why they continue to bash the call is what pisses me off. Bashing the rule I could completely understand, and to a great extent I agree. Bashing the call shows a complete lack of knowledge about the rule. Professional sports media should know the difference.

Actually the part of this rule I don't like is the fact that Brooks still gets credit for a sack (why?) and the ball is moved from the spot of the foul. In this case, it became essentially only a 5 yard penalty from the 35 (spot of foul was the 45 and got moved to the 30), vs a 15 yarder which would have put it at the 20.

That needs to change.

My guess is that if he hadn't hit Drew high, it would have been a sack.

But thats a pretty interesting take.

If someone commits PI in the endzone, why isn't the receiver credited with a TD?

Oh it's a sack no doubt if there is no penalty on the play

I just don't think a player who just committed a personal foul on a QB deserves to get credit for the sack.
