Sean Payton made the end of Jabari Greer's season official on Tuesday, announcing that the starting cornerback would be placed on injured reserve because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Greer was injured on a play in which he leaped to break up a pass intended for Jon Baldwin in the first half of New Orleans' victory over San Francisco on Sunday. His knee buckled and appeared hyper-extended when he landed, and he was carted to the locker room.

Payton had hinted Monday that the injury was serious, but waited until Tuesday to disclose the ACL tear and report the roster move.

New Orleans also has signed defensive back Trevin Wade, who was drafted by Cleveland and played much of last season, but had been a free agent throughout this season.

Wade was signed to add depth. Payton said second-year cornerback Corey White is expected to take over Greer's starting role, as he did during last Sunday's game, in which he had an interception.

What's the forum's consensus on White as a player? I honestly think he has a bright future, and is a good looking player. He may make a few boneheaded plays every now and then, but what young player doesn't?

The consensus is pretty much what you said.

Some still think he's a better candidate for safety, but I think thats just leftover from a couple draft scouting reports that projected him to safety.

He's got the size, speed and confidence for sure. He was just about as raw as they come.

He reminds me a little of Mike McKenzie.

agreed

He is a raw player and sometime needs coaching up on his fundamentals but I like the player he could become

his size and speed impress me and he plays the ball well in the air, the one thing I like both our corners now is;

They do not hesitate to make the tackle in run support, they both play aggressive

The aggressive run support is what got us banged up the SB year.
McKenzie had to suit up cold and help us out.
This time I hope the front seven keeps up the solid play so those guys can stay cover fresh.
All of that banging in run support takes something away late in games.
Corey White has progressed well and his ball skills are improving.
If he and Jenkins can learn to anticipate throws after 3 seconds or so they
will get to Sharper levels of ball-hawk-ed-ness.
The extra 1-2 turnovers will help ALOT!

SugarHill Gang, Baby! Jump On It!

Just thought it was appropriate for White tonight - it's an honest, real song...

Don't care for most of rap now; give it all a chance if it has its own ORIGINAL, TRUE value...even, C-O-U-N-T-R-Y

No Sampling, No Auto-Tune(r)...

(Exception: Bop Gun/One Nation)

Gotta get back to my Just Dance3 Session
