Re: How do you feel about Corey White Performance last night?

Agreed. I love the idea of having a hard hitting corner. Especially with the way Rob Ryan loves to disguise blitz. I've seen him send Greer on a V-line to the QB after disguising press coverage, though I cannot remember which game it was. Would love to see White put a big hit on Russell Wilson or Cam Newton.

Re: How do you feel about Corey White Performance last night?

Not to concerned about White... He cant control if he is playing off in coverage, the scheme calls for that. The good thing is he never got beat deep or got fooled on double moves which Greer would do all the time.

You can't judge a novel by reading the first page. He had his first start and I'll give him a C- for it.

I saw Jenkins covering a WR a time or two and Vaccaro had the responsibility of Gonzalez... Didn't pay much attention to Harper

I thought he played like he should of a lil out of place at first but got into his groove. I'm more worried about the depth after white it really drops off talent wise, would be best to work a vet. I'm not saying nnamdi but someone.

If you didnt notice Harper there is a good chance it was because he didn't get burnt. :)

Harper not getting burnt happens more frequently than many realize.;)

He got off to a rocky start but played better in the second half. Overall, I think he'll continue to improve.

One thing is for certain though. He will have to play better against Seattle. A lot of people think the hawks receiving corps isn't very good but they are all physical and explosive. Especially with Percy Harvin being back. Except for Harvin, they all remind me of faster versions of anquan boldin. The are capable of outfighting defenders when the ball is in the air but don't really scare you with their speed.

Very true.

People just need to accept the fact that Seattle is a great team. I'd say top 5 in the entire NFL easily, maybe top 3.

Its the best team on our entire schedule and we're playing them in their back yard.

Its gonna take everything we have to beat them.

He did look like the second coming of Jason David in the first half but he did do a lot better after the half. I think White will be just fine when he settles in. I have seen him do some pretty good stuff in the past and he has improved for the most part. I just think he needs to settle in. I always liked White. Now is his chance to seize his future.

He did make adjustments in the second half. Problem is San Fran and Atlanta both abused him at times, just luckily neither ran up scores because of it.

It is concerning because the Saints do have to bring their A-Game to Seattle. So whatever the issue has been, Rob Ryan needs to ensure Wilson doesn't have the same opportunity.

When was he abused in the San Fran game?

He was our highest graded player in coverage and the 3rd highest overall grade on the entire defense.

We aren't beating Seattle anyway. We just get passed that game with no injuries and I'm happy. Carolina is the team we need to bring our A game for. Twice

Am I mistaken that he was the guy covering that Kaepernick kept having success against? Did have a few in me there, lol. Everyone in my section was wondering why he stopped going to him since that was about the only thing working at the time for SF.

Wow; they probably have room on a seat for you in the band-wagon... I'm seriously beginning to wonder if you're actually a Saints fan or just here to stir the pot

He looked okay in the second half, but a lot of that was because their O-line got worn down by our insane pass rush. My jury is still out, but I'm pulling for him!!!

You may be. I think Carr and Greer got burnt a few times, or maybe Jenkins/Bush??? I DVR'd the game and certainly don't mind speed watching it again.

I do remember Carr having a rough game against the 9ners,

I think it was who ever was covering Boldin. Seems like he caught about 5 in row abusing our DB, the Kaepernick stopped going his way for some reason.

I think Greer/White were covering Boldin. Boldin was held to 6 catches for 56 yards 1 TD, a long of 14... White did a good job

Re: How do you feel about Corey White Performance last night?

It looks like it was Lewis covering Boldin from what I can find, so I know it wasn't him because Lewis has been good.
Seems like it was one of the new young guys.

White was covering Boldin on that back shoulder touchdown pass I know that much

PFF Grades aren't always right but here's our DB's vs San Fran in pass coverage

White +1.2
Greer +1.1
Carr +0.8
Jenkins +0.5
Harper +0.2
Bush -0.1
Lewis -0.3

Re: How do you feel about Corey White Performance last night?

A tale of two halves. In the first half, he was being abused, because he was playing well off his man. Once he started playing press coverage in the second half, he shut him down. I'm sure Rob Ryan told him at halftime to go out there and stick to his man like glue and not let him get out of the blocks. He did just that. The proper adjustments were made, and he was in lock down mode from there on out.

Re: How do you feel about Corey White Performance last night?

Gotta say my bad in that case, lol.
Would have sworn it was White, but that was statement without hard fact, only game day beer memories from S.F.

Re: How do you feel about Corey White Performance last night?

he looked ok but the announcer for the game was getting on my nerve (obvious Atlanta fan) saying Colston stiff arm was a face mask and Corey White was playing 10 yards off when actually he will give the illusion he was playing off and run up before the snap of the ball to bump and run

Re: How do you feel about Corey White Performance last night?

And the argument earlier is null and void... White missed 1 play the whole game because of his knee...

New Orleans Saints Week 12 snap counts - ESPN

Out of 68 defensive snaps, he played 67

and:

Quote:

Thoughts: No, that’s not a typo. Graham was in at safety on the Falcons’ final desperate play. He’s a shut-down safety! … Foster left the game early with a serious-looking leg injury. He was carted off the field. We haven’t gotten any updates on his condition yet. … The Saints were back in the three-safety formation we saw so much earlier this year. And Harper is obviously feeling good coming off a significant knee injury, since he was able to play so many snaps.

Re: How do you feel about Corey White Performance last night?

(I stand corrected)
He will adjust or be adjusted by coaching.

I remember when Jenkins' jersey chasing a receiver down the field was burned into my mind each game. ( A couple years back)

It takes time to make a great defensive back.

Yes, but that's the problem. If he stinks it up for a quarter against Harvin they go up by 14. I like him and thought he would play better, which he did eventually. Seattle will test him early and often.

Corey had his issues early on but he wasn't atrocious. He is a very young player who will have tough moments in every game but the kid has major talent & Rob will 'coach him up'. In due time Corey will be a very good cb.

Side note - Is anyone as impressed with Keenan as much as I am? This guy has arguably been our best off season acquisition since Sproles. He has been locking up WR's consistently week end and week out.

Those announcers were horrible. Pierre gashes them for 17 yards and all they have to say is how good atl tackling has been. Very next play Graham gets them for another 15 and they bring up Gonzo.
