of LEADERSHIP and VISION. Pure and simple.
No fair weather fan, just the facts! There was a thread that spoke to IT, sorry to say, the Saints do not have IT. Brooks has a strong arm and a weak MIND. The guy doesn't have touch on the ball which has caused some of the receiver misses. Not all, but some. Stallworth needs to go to bed at night with a football in his arms. As for the individual who spoke about fair weather fans, this is our right. We pay for admission and we are the ones who make up the fan base. If we choose to speak out about the faults, so be it. If we choose to speak about positives, so be it. You can choose to be silent or one who expresses your opinion. Makes very little difference here as NONE of the players visit, none of the coaches visit, and for damn sure BENSON never visits this site. So, your assumption that expressions here translates to the stadium or to players is flawed. IMHO. I live in Dallas and can tell you I hate the Cowboys and have been a SAINT fan since INCEPTION of the team. So, if you think my comments are those of a fair weather fan...then you are my friend, CONFUSED. |

im not here to push buttons or anything, but....
since when does paying admission make you fan? i dont mean to doubt your spirit or bond with this team, this has occurred in other posts as well, it makes me upset to see so many people upset because they pay for tickets--that means a great deal im sure. but the true mark of a fan it is not. again, im not doubting your faith and im not doubting your devotion to this team inspite of itself. just saying |

If you buy a CD player and you bring it home and it doesn\'t work right, do you complain? If it skips, spits out CDs, etc. do you have the right to complain? Sure.
The general argument here is that when you pay for a ticket or buy a jersey or even watch the game on TV, you are doing the things that makes the league work. You\'re contributing to the millions upon millions of dollars that go to these teams and players. When they don\'t play up to snuff, you SHOULD complain. You SHOULD boo. If you bought that CD player from Sony, you\'d ask for your money back. You might bad-mouth SOny to your friends. But you don\'t care nearly as much about Sony as you do the Saints. That makes discontent even more justified when it comes to sports IMO. |

jbutts,
I am sure the Superdome is filled with casual observers of football who could care less who is playing! NOT. A fan supports his/her favorite team with purchases of merchandise and tickets as well as expressions of support including being critical. I love my children, but if they need critical input to make them a better person, I sure as hell give it to them. Does that not make me a father? Without a fan base who pays admission, Benson would be moving the team as fast as you can blink. For him, it is BUSINESS. For me as a fan, it is a PASSION. I accept your comments for what they are...an expression of your opinion. Keep it up. |

i would say your love of your children that provokes you to want them and thier lives to better is a fantastic paralelle. the point im trying to make is this: buying your children everything they want doesnt make you a good father. and im sure you know that. gotta love your passion. aint nothing wrong about that. |

Exactly, but at the same time providing for them is OK. Which is my point. I believe we understand each others point of view. Thanks. |

Jbutts -
I don\'t think there is a greater measure of a fan then continuing buying tickets for heartache. Think of all the people who have actually given up on the team and refuse to buy tickets to support them, those are not fans. I am sure biloxi has better things to do with his money than buy an over-priced ticket to a team that is not putting out a good product, but he is. In my book that makes him just as much a fan if not more. If I like shopping at Winn Dixie more than anywhere else, but they always sell me moldy bread, yet I keep shopping at Winn Dixie, I am loyal to my love for Winn Dixie right? Doesn\'t mean I can\'t say to my wife, man Winn Dixie always has moldy ass bread cause I still shop there so I am still loyal. Biloxi is showing his loyalty by continuing to purchase tickets for a team that has progressively gotten worse each year under this regime and I am sure breaks his heart every time he has to hear an opposing team cheering in our home cause our team is stinking it up. How is he not a fan? |
