Q: Is Benson closer than we think to turning over the day-to-day operations to LeBlanc-Benson? To the extent that she has any influence, what's the read on her short term and long term plans to build a championship franchise in New Orleans?

Q: In your opinion, assuming you agree that a shake-up is needed after this season, how deep and wide should the cuts be made?

A: I don't think Tom Benson is ready to relinquish his ownership duties any time soon, unless his health would fail. I see no indication that he is ready to turn over the franchise to Rita in the near future and to be honest I have been told he is as active as ever due to the events of the early season and their lack of success. I have learned he has been sitting in on meetings and even attending more practices than ever before. That don't sound like someone who is willing to turn over the keys to the car.

A: the shakeup should be widespread, no question, if the season continues to work out as we have seen it early on. And I mean from top to bottom, general manager, coaches, assistants, scouting department, etc., etc.
Benson's hanging out at practice and team meetings? Airline drive has got to be a pressure cooker for everybody these days. Thinking about it is giving me an ulcer. It sure sounds like Haslett and friends need to start winning pronto. Based on what we've been reading over the last few days (Loomis, Haslett and players pointing fingers at each other) I would bet that the entire organization has settled into trench warfare to try and survive the shakeup that's got to be coming. Doesn't sound like a recipe for winning.

Detillier seems to think that cleaning house is the best solution, even though he wouldn't speculate on specific names to replace anyone who gets the axe. If Benson is at the training facility every day, I can't imagine anyone feeling very confident about their positions right now.

So, just for fun, let\'s assume there is a massive house-cleaning. Who do we want to bring in?

1. GM
2. Head Coach (assume coordinators will be chosen by HC)
3. QB

Let\'s be realistic. Making the playoffs will probably require going 10-6... at very least 9-7. This team is 2-4. Do you see them going 8-2 or 7-3 from here out? If the lose in Oakland, IMO, it\'s time to start letting the no-names get a shot. Play Bouman for a game - why not? I DO NOT think he can take Brooks\' spot, but we have no idea what he can do in a real game situation.

Play Stinky... give Fahkir a start or two... put Mel Mitchell on the field... why not?

Shake up? Hell, shake up the foundation til the roof of the Dome falls off. It\'s a trickle down effect starting from the GM and working down to the towel boys.

Loomis should be rightfully replaced by Randy Mueller, but we all know that isn\'t going to happen. I\'m sure there are tons of candidates that actually know football and can do the job Loomis isn\'t doing.

Romeo Crennell, Charlie Weis, or Maurice Carthon to replace Haslett next season after he is fired halfway through THIS season and replaced by either Venturi or McCarthy on an interim basis.

There will be a ton of players gone next year when the new regime comes in, i\'m pretty sure. Joe Horn (cap casualty), Darren Howard (replaced by Will Smith), Ambrose (age), and several others who just haven\'t produced. IMHO, I don\'t see a new regime holding on to Brooks much longer, either. One of two things will happen. One, they bring in a rookie or free agent QB to compete with him. Two, he\'s traded to either Miami, Oakland, Arizona, or Baltimore (just who I think he could go to.).

I agree with WhoDat on the immediate future. Start playing some of the younger guys. Put Bockwoldt in at linebacker, Brown at corner, Mitchell in at safety, Stinchcomb at RG, Gardner and Henderson more reps at WR, Karney more PT in the backfield, Leisle some downs at DT, and let them do what they do best. What would it hurt?

People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.

OK. I\'ll bite.

1. GM
Randy Mueller. Casserly and Donohoe are employed.

2. Head Coach (assume coordinators will be chosen by HC)
Romeo Crennel.

3. QB
Aaron Brooks. In the right system with the right coach he can be a top 5 QB.

So I\'ll add another category:

4. Backup QB.
