Cold and snow Monday
Could come down to who runs the ball better. I hope our D can continue to stop the run like it has been

Snow uh oh
|
Re: Cold and snow Monday
I have seen passes completed in the snow. It's the wind that we need to keep an watch on. I like a cold and snowy game. That'll at least make the Seahawks fan miserable.
|
Re: Cold and snow Monday
Wind isn't that bad, most of what Brees throws is short stuff. Paydirt strikes though will be hard to come by for both teams.
|
Re: Cold and snow Monday
Wow, it could be a fun game.
|
Re: Cold and snow Monday
A six-day forecast is impossible to predict in the Northwest, especially looking at a four-hour window.
It will be 40-degrees or below, that's about all we know right now. I predict LOUD. Alaska |

Re: Cold and snow Monday
Cool! Snow is FAR better than rain and/or wind for a QB.
|
Re: Cold and snow Monday
Bring it, yall think these guys were born in the rain forest or something. Both teams have to play in these conditions. Do yall really think this team will lay down and die. Hell to the no. Actually I can't wait for this game, get ready to shut some mouths up especially Michael Irvin.

Re: Cold and snow Monday
Let's talk about something else already
Monday Mostly Cloudy Precipitation: 0% Humidity: 67% Wind: 6mph https://www.google.com/search?q=seat...sm=93&ie=UTF-8 |
Re: Cold and snow Monday
I don't think I have EVER seen a home team so hung up about the weather as these Seahawk fans are. It's like they're depending on it as a crutch to win the game for them. Even Chicago fans at Soldier Field aren't as obsessed with it like these guys are.

Re: Cold and snow Monday
What starts to really haunt the NFL is when Seattle is good, it then really plays a toll on the entire NFL who has to travel there.
Think about it, where are most NFL teams located? opposite side of the U.S. or close to it. The only teams that are remotely even close to Seattle are San Fran and Oakland, and when those teams have to travel to Seattle, its almost the same distance as having a us go to Chicago. My issues with Seattle is they should of never done a division alignment like we one we see in NFC West, mostly because St Louis is so far out from the rest, and Arizona is far out from StL and Seattle, IMO Seattle should of stayed in the AFC where teams like Denver, Oakland, KC, and such are at least not so far away. Geographically speaking, IMO its just not right how its set up, if Seattle ever becomes a power house, we going to see every bit of this come into play. Those over achieving Falcons beat them last season, but look where that game was played, forcing Seattle to travel 2000 miles to Atlanta, I dont care who you are, but when you travel great distances like that to play a football game, that pretty much is a big factor in the outcome of a game, I dont care how noisy or what stadium its in. This aint to say the Saints should pack it in.........but lets get real................I have had this marked as a loss for a long time on the schedule. If we win by some chance, I think it will be a miracle. I however believe we wont lose another game again either if we do lose. |
Re: Cold and snow Monday
rain tapers off before game time and wind speed is minimual with temps in the 40's.
cool refreshing and clean air to breath. sounds like football weather to me. |

A) the MNF game has been moved to Indiana because the DEA has commandeered CenturyLink to use to drug test every Seattleite for PED's or B) It snows often at Purdue Univ, where number 9 broke many records before he moved to sunny Socal and then brought his show indoors. Henceforth and therefore, Brees will be fine Monday ? |
Re: Cold and snow Monday
I'd run with option B :)

Quarterback Air Yards - 2013 - NFL Season Statistics The stat here is "quarterback air yards" which is defined as "the total distance that a football is thrown beyond the line of scrimmage to the point of reception. Air yards is calculated by taking total passing yards and subtracting Yards After the Catch (YAC)." Drew is obviously near the top every year in total air yards because he throws for a ton of yards, thus resulting in a lot of total air yards. I think the more relevant stat for this debate is "air yards per attempt", which will show how far the QB throws it per attempt, minus the YAC. The #1 overall QB for this year is just over 5 yards...so your estimate of "10-12 yards" (what you thought was a small number) is actually more than double the league leader. I agree that 10-12 yards seems mediocre at best, but the numbers don't lie. Just over 5 yards LEADS THE LEAGUE. Remember, we are subtracting the YAC, as you even stated that "what the back or receiver does with it after is a different story." Drew Brees is #9 overall for this year with 4.19. He has finished in the top ten 4 of the last 6 years, and was #2 overall in 2009. I think it's safe to say he does NOT "mostly throw short stuff", which was the comment I had originally refuted from the Seachicken fan, and also what you tried to refute me on to agree with the Seachicken fan, that Brees does in fact throw a lot of short passes. Well, I think I've made it clear that is not the case when you compare Drew relative to the rest of the QBs in the league (there is nothing else to compare it to...no not the weather). So you were right about one thing, we have obviously been watching different QBs over the past 6 years. Cheers. |
Re: Cold and snow Monday
Guess we will see Monday. I can't wait, it will be a great test for all 3 phases of our team (O, D, STs). We have a chance to win, but can't do anything to shoot ourselves in the foot.

Snow Gone
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/30/adytyda6.jpg It's not who runs better. I am a Saints fan through and through, but there is no question of who can run better. The question is can we do to Lynch what we have done to other great RBs this season. |
Re: Cold and snow Monday
i am sticking with
Mostly cloudy rain tapper off by game time Temp about 40 to 45 degrees slight gusty wind conditions nothing really major no fog in the forecast either :) with a low around 31. |
Re: Cold and snow Monday
Those are miserable conditions for players and for fans.
There will be dropped balls and lots of lost traction. Ugh… Just win BIG. Alaska |
Re: Cold and snow Monday
The irony of it all, as much as SeaHag fans point to the weather as their advantage, Russell Wilson really has never played in the conditions they are reporting may actually occur on Monday. In fact, it is entirely plausible that Brees in his entire football career has had much more exposure to cold weather games than the entire SeaHag team put together.

Re: Cold and snow Monday
Above thirty nine degrees and a slight wind with no snow is my meteorological prediction.
|
Re: Cold and snow Monday
Enough with the weather already. It will be just as cold and slippery or whatever for the Seachickens. It's not like they all played their entire careers in the freakin artic circle. The coldest game Wilson has played since starting is 42 deg. (twice). The key to this game IMO, won't be the weather, it will be containing Lynch. Make Wilson throw to beat us.

Re: Cold and snow Monday
Where did Drew play college ball?
Enough said. Indiana ain't exactly in the tropics. |
Re: Cold and snow Monday
No snow and slight wind = More passes? Hopefully we can get a run game/ screen game working.
