The Saints had the same problem with the Vikings; they always seemed to be a little bit better than us and then Payton and Brees came to town and things changed.

For whatever reason the seapunks are in our head and until we stomp their guts out on the road, they will stay there.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees said after the game that he thinks he and his teammates can do a better job in a future matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks took a hammer to the Saints, turning a much awaited showdown into lopsided blowout.

However, Brees says no matter how bad the loss was, they will have to find a way to match the Seahawks firepower.

"We know they are a team we are going to have to deal with in the future," Brees said, via NOLA.com.

"We are going to have to find a way to play better against these guys when that time comes."

"Nothing we did offensively was right, we really couldn't get anything going," Brees said.

You're right. They are going to have to prove it. Not just to us but the whole NFL.

There's no way that Seattle is that much better than us. I had little reason, prior to Monday night, to believe they were better at all.

Just look at how they've played most of the season, squeaking by several average or altogether hapless teams... In other words, not unlike the Saints, with the only difference being that when the Saints are at their best they've looked like the best team in the league. What happened the other night was a rare combination of everything going right for one team and everything going wrong for the other. We got beat, clearly we were not the better team on that night, and there are no excuses for what happened. But I have to believe that if we played them again, even this week, it would at the very least be a competitive game.

This team deserved to lose the other night, but they are better than that. 34-7 is a fluke.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Our receivers are not aggressive enough. They are getting mauled on routes and a half a second before the grab. You could see Jimmy getting more aggressive but by that time it was too late. Joe Horn was a master at using his leg power to move defenders out of the way and create space. Morgan was also good at it. Really miss his skills right now. If Brees doesn't throw the perfect pass it likely will be incomplete which is not going to work.
