Saints aim for record indoor crowd noise
Six nights after the Saints heard 137.6 decibels of noise at an open-air stadium they were visiting, they could hear nearly as much at home.
The Saints have announced that the Superdome faithful will be making a run on Sunday night at the record for the loudest roar at an indoor sports stadium. The Saints host the Panthers on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. “We, as an organization, take tremendous pride in the great home field advantage that our fans provide for us each and every home game,” Saints owner Tom Benson said. “This is a unique opportunity to enter the Guinness Book of Records and we’re confident that our fans will help us achieve the goal. It’s a testament to their passion that we’re hosting a representative from Guinness Book of Records and it speaks to the anticipation that they have for how loud our crowd will be. We were part of history last week in Seattle and we are confident that our fans can make history, too.” The record, set last month in Sacramento for a Kings game (really?), is a mere 126 decibels. It’s the latest in a stream of noise records pursued by sports teams. Which is great news for the folks who maintain the Guinness Book of World Records, which many (including me) forgot existed. Manufactured noise.
Record shouldn't count unless compared to similar construction. Hate Seattle fans. |
Re: Saints aim for record indoor crowd noise
Drunk Saints fans should be able to get louder than stoned seachicken fans.
WHO DAT!!! |
Re: Saints aim for record indoor crowd noise
Hey it's all good...WhoDats inspired to break a record for an indoor stadium?
Key to the noise is beatin' on the seats and amplifying your voice! Hope we get the record and put a beat down on the Panthers! |
Re: Saints aim for record indoor crowd noise
Scoot was on the radio today telling people to get loud when the offense is on the field. Lol

Re: Saints aim for record indoor crowd noise
We should get 10 decibels credit for creating the 12-year old man. We brought him to pubescent greatness in 2010.
Don't think it will happen in the Dome. Many of the seats are cushioned, absorbing a great deal of sound. In Seattle, they sit on plastic and hand out plastic cups to shout through. We may get the dome record but we'll never match the hollow cackling of the hen coup. Alaska |

hmmmm well lets keep this civil. this is an attempt to cut things off at the pass before it "MAY" get out of hand. as far as the seahawk hate i think things calmed down to the offenders in the stadium and a few posters. as a whole i believe respect has been shown and given to the team, fans and the city as a whole. we all have a few bad eggs and well lets just keep it to a few |
