If I am not mistaken we would've had a pretty good chance for a playoff spot if we had won that game.

I can because we had that game won even with the 5 TO's. That last drive by SF was won because Williams blitzed the whole drive. A little prevent would have worked wonders.

No regular season game can equal what I felt in the Seattle and SF playoff losses. To this day I still don't really like talking about the SF game. Only another championship can heal that wound.

all of last season...I think anyone who owns a Sain't jersey should be subsidized by the NFL for that debacle.

I think early on Payton had the tendency to out coach himself. I think he's gotten better about that.

And as far as his era... the loss to Cleveland in the year following the Superbowl just hurt.

No sir it didnt. Allow me to refresh your memory, we were up 32-29 and SF got the ball with a little over a min left and 80 yards to score. What happened on that drive was unacceptable. Blitz after blitz and we get burned.

36-32 we lose. A turnover didn't cost us the game. The D coordinator did.
