Re: 2014 NFL Draft
Shazier is extremely fast, with or without pads. I'm a Michigan Wolverines fan so naturally I watched a lot of Ohio St as well haha. Shazier is a good player.

Pre Combine Mock
Round 1 Jason Verrett CB TCU 5095 176 Just what the Saints defense needs. A nickle back out of the gate that can stay with those slots WR and bail out the ILB. Lets see catch phrases Very feisty Outstanding instincts, Superb reactive quickness and recovery speed, Very good ball skills, Very willing in run support my guts say SP goes Odell Beckham, Jr.*, WR, LSU Round 2 Jack Mewhort ROT/OG/LS Ohio St. 6060 306 Pass Blocking? He definitely excels and looks natural. Run Blocking? Needs work. But he has starter-caliber strength, athleticism and technique supplemented with desirable intangibles. Versatility is a huge plus Jack Mewhort | Draft Breakdown Round 3 James White RB Wisconsin 5090 206 4.42 Saints start to groom PT replacement Round 4 Josh Mauro, DE/DT Stanford 6054 276 4.98 his size, strength and toughness could make him a dependable five-technique defensive end in a 34 Round 5 Howard Jones OLB/ILB Shepard 6022 229 4.54 FootballCEO found yet another gem i have to include. He looks to have outstanding instincts, Superb reactive quickness, good ball skills and appears to have excellent football IQ. plus he lines up all over the place. I am thinking starting off depth to groom but a 3rd and long specialist at ILB is were he might break into the line up. special teams day one. http://blackandgold.com/saints/64363...tml#post578384 6th gotta a list of them. lol the one i want to see more of is Brandon Dixon NW Missouri St CB/FS 5112 204 4.35? Solid unsung Div ll CB with what maybe the fastest CB in the draft. that will soon be answered. Has a good skill and plays a very physical style. Needs to be coached up. Interviews will be key for kid |

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
among the CB in the draft (that might be on the board) he had all the right catch phrases Very feisty Outstanding instincts, Superb reactive quickness and recovery speed, Very good ball skills, Very willing in run support What i missed was his tackling skills are solid. none of the other CB can sting together a list like that. plus measuring in at under 5'11" makes him prime to drop no matter his 40 time and drills. as for other positions i think we need to have a player fall into our laps or we believe in some of the hyped players. either way i think i played it safe and accepted the fact that any player i really like will probably not end up with the saints for whatever reason so i did not draft them. my draft involves trading the first and Ingram. possibly adding in Grahmbut thats a hornets nest i will poke at later |

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
I have a major man crush on Verrett. Everything about him screams shut-down corner. With Lewis, Verrett, White and a healthy Robinson nobody would be able to throw on us.

I'm very big on he and Dozier. I hope we draft one of them. |

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
I see a lot of people and websites mocking us Dee Ford from Auburn. Would we like that pick? He good?
Also - I agree with the above posters saying Jason Verrett is a beast. I would love that pick. |

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
Dee Ford is fantastic... But we already have a Jack LB as Hagan said about Junior. If we're gonna go LB in the 1st round it has to be one that can play the Sam spot and excel in coverage while offering a little pass rush too when we want to get aggressive. That man would be Kyle Van Noy. I can't wait to see him at the combine on Monday.
