Best team in the NFC?

San Fran- loses to us, then wins 4 straight, including SEA
Seattle- best record
Carolina- tied w/ us, has won 9 of 10
Saints- Jekyll and/or Hyde
Other (feel free to vote the Rams here)

Re: Best team in the NFC?

It's the Saints (my choice) or Seattle (can't ignore the record).

Time will tell. If we get HOT, we can smoke all these guys.

My thoughts exactly... they are solid in all phases of the game.

Re: Best team in the NFC?

1. Seattle
2. New Orleans
3. San Fran
4. Carolina
5. about 4 other teams, all interchangable

The best team?

The best team in the NFL is whatever team Goddell wants to be the best team.

It is not our turn and we are not on God's list.

Re: Best team in the NFC?

Another way to ask the same question is...

Is there any offense that Seattle's defense can't either choke down or entirely throttle when they are playing in Seattle?

They have two remaining regular season home games against division rivals and then a first round bye for being the #1 seed, which they essentially have locked up.

Re: Best team in the NFC?

I think it's Seattle all by thselves. There is a huge drop off after that which includes us, the Panthers, and 49ers in no particular order. I feel the last 3 are equal and would win against the others at their own stadium.

Re: Best team in the NFC?

If we are judging best team by wins on a neutral field we might not even be top 5. We are 3-4 on the road and 5-4 in the last 9 games. Home field helps us along with Seattle tremendously, which is why we need to beat Carolina this week or we will be 1 and done in the playoffs.

We may be one and done anyway...but, slapping that smile off propeller-head's face would do me a world of good.

Re: Best team in the NFC?

Seattle is on a completely different plain. The NFC is there's to lose. With a week off and home field throughout the playoffs (which it will have), some team will have to play a game of a lifetime to beat them coupled with some luck (an injury possibility, an injury to a key player). Unlike some teams, they were able to win the games they were supposed to win, including road games. It could be different on a neutral site, but still difficult.

We are the best. Two games come down to turnovers. We have everybody right where we want them!

Re: Best team in the NFC?

When we played Seattle, they played balls to the walls for four quarters. We played like limp weenies for four quarters. Yesterday, except for a couple of drives, we played like limp weenies for four quarters. The best team in the NFC doesn't play like limp weenies two out of the last three weeks. I think Seattle is the best team in the NFC right now. Can we beat them? Of coarse. However, can they beat us. Damn right they can. We just need to show up and play these games and win. We need to play hard and EARN the "best team in the NFC."

We can be like some of the teams that surprise people and put together a win streak at the end. It will take a lot of energy and some luck. I chose Seattle just because they are so solid in all phases.

I certainly think its ignorant and premature to crown anyone NFC champ yet, but as of right now, i'd say the road will go through Seattle….unfortunately.
