Re: What is most satisfying?

Of course we want to be at home, but how satisfying would it be to win 3 road playoff games then win the SB. After having so many struggles on the road and being thought of as a team that cannot travel I would love for the Saints to give everyone the big F U and win it all on the road.

If I had to choose between the first or sixth seed I would want the first, but that is not the point of this thread.

Unless you are saying that the Saints at #6 could never even survive to play against Seattle, which is also possible.

Using the Yahoo Playoff Scenario Generator-- It looks like this to me:

Yes, you are correct. I had to write this out to get it in my head.

If Carolina wins on Sunday

They are the 2 seed and we are the 6 seed.

The 6th seed plays either the Bears, Eagles or the Lions in the Wild Card Round.

If we are the 6th seed and win in the Wild Card Round we will play Seattle in the Divisional Round.

If we win again, in the Divisional Round .... AND, if Seattle wins against either SF, Lions or Dallas ( LOL ), then we have the privilege of meeting them again at C-Link.

If we win on Sunday

We are the 2 seed and they are the 6th seed, which would mean the same scenario as above for Carolina.

The 2 seed plays the highest seed coming out of the Wild Card Round.

The only way for us to get the one seed now is if we win Sunday and SEA loses to the Cards AND the Rams. Which is not without possibility -- but -- yeah.

Having the 2 seed means there's a slight chance Seattle gets knocked out in the divisional round by San Francisco.

Then San Fran comes to the dome for big bowl of STFU gumbo.

STFU gumbo? I seriously need the recipe. I have several "guests" I need to use it on.

Interesting way of looking at it. I don't get any extra satisfaction regarding seeding. Winning the Superbowl is winning the Superbowl, for me.

But with that said, I don't think we have a prayer if we don't get the bye. Check that... We have only a prayer, and nothing else. We are the worst road team I have ever seen in my life, among teams who are actually competitive otherwise (teams that suck all the way around don't count, as no one expects them to win on the road or anywhere).

I brought up my concerns after our early season road "performances" and my words were predictably poo pooed by almost everyone. I'm sure I won't be hearing from any of them about it now.

Sometimes overcoming the most challenging odds and obtaining your goal is more rewarding then accomplishing the same task using the 'easier method'.

So here is to us going on the road for the playoffs and winning it all!

Anything is possible.

I would rather win it all that way too. I had a lot of respect for the Giants when they did it. It would also be bittersweet for any team we beat who thought the game against us was going to turn out like the Rams or Seahawks game. Its just more thrilling and entertaining that way.
That being said I will take all the help I can get and being at home for the playoffs will help. a lot.

I dont know why, but I have a feeling Seatttle is not going to make it to the championship game. I think they get surprised and knocked out. That would be great for us especially if we end up with the 2 seed.

I also think we see a different team going forward. Payton has really let the hammer down and I think it lights a fire that will burn all the way to New York.

Either way the Failcons will be watching the Saints from their living rooms.

I respectfully motion the board to consider amending the point of this thread to include the fact that the Failcons season is over.

No, we need the to win the Division. That right there sets the tone for the playoffs.

I also want the banner in the rafters for the collection. Wild card banners are meh.
