I don't think that's fair to use him as a scapegoat. Defense played great all game. A first down would have sealed the deal for us.

NOT a loss on Harper or individuals, that's just a team loss. Carolina made defensive adjustments to slow us down.

At the end of the game the offense, defense AND special teams were not able to seal the deal.

We just can't get the job done. Almost identical ending to the game as the Pats game in many ways. The Saints are not as good on the road as they are at home. Until they start proving that wrong, it's just a fact.

Total breakdown of our D with 1:02 left in the game. Jenkins missed Newton completly without being blocked, unreal. Our O cannot say they didn't have enough chances. My hat goes off to Rob Ryan and our D for at least keeping it as close as it was, his entire D played great until Carolinas last possession.

Saints performance differential at home vs. any game on the road this year (win or lose) is very large.
I agreed, that an away game is an away game.
Difference in Saints performance at home vs. their level of performance away against Seattle, NYJ and St. Louis is gigantic and that's where the skepticism comes from.

LOL, blame Harper? Losing Vacarro was huge. The defense is the only reason we even had a chance to win. Settling for FG's and throw in two INTs and still have chance to win? Making Cam beat us with his arm was the right play since he was ineffective there all day.

The offense was offensive without question ... The Left Tackle Experiment should have been over after the 1st period or at least after the 4th sack ... Payton should have taken the hit and made the move and acknowledged it was a mistake and just didn't work ... play calling on our last offensive drive ... dumb stupid high schoolish ... 3 runs off tackle ... Don't ya think the Panthers were just filling the box waiting for it ... That lost us the game after all the crap from Brees O line and Coaching but only because of the defensive play we were still in position to win ... Then Payton / Ryan play prevent on the last series and were successful ... They prevented us from winning ... Not Roman Harper ... Really!!!!

Jenkins contract is up next year. As for trading up I disagree. We have 3 FA's on the o-line that will need to be replaced next year. Rd 1 really needs to go O-line in my book. CB will be a need as well.

Newton made probably three of the best throws I've ever seen him make on that last drive. All with pressure in his face. The last one was thrown to a spot well before the WR made his out cut. The WR got there. Not to excuse White, but not too many if any DB's make a play on that ball.

We should win every time when the opposing team has 16 pts. Defense did fine.
Offense looks great in the middle of the field, but seems to be allergic to the last 20 yards.

I rewatched the game last night and I now know why Corey White got a game all. Not a single completion given up in the 2nd half. He was glued to his man.

Jenkins gets more blame than Harper. His wiff on a b line path to the qb is the story of his career. He cant tackle for chit. He makes that hit on Cam and that TD dont happen.

I am not gonna blame the D though. They played there butts off and kept us in the game. I'd rather blame Brees. He is not the same player on the road. Makes terrible decisions and forgets how to throw the ball away.

Offense couldnt score. Brees gifted a short field 2x. Defense only gave up 16pts. Average NFL points are 24. D did fine, unless we expect the D to win games now. I put this loss squarely on Brees.
If we had a punter that put the other team 2x on our 30 we would be asking for his head. Thats what Brees did.
