this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think the improvement from game 1 to game 2 will be noticeable. Got the jitters out, can work all week on correcting his errors, and he's at home....

Re: Armstead To Get Another Start
The improvement from 1st to 2nd half was noticeable. The guy gave up 0 sacks on 22 drop backs in the 2nd half. It also felt like we ran the ball much better with him in, you cant credit him completely with that but he played a role.

Re: Armstead To Get Another Start
Brees has held the ball to long, but the fact is teams have been able to get significant pressure on Brees with a 4 man rush and put 7 in coverage, result no one is open or takes longer to get open.

Re: Armstead To Get Another Start
Which is why we need to run even if we're only getting 3 yrds a pop. It opens up the short game. I still would like an explanation as to why we went away from Ingram.

Re: Armstead To Get Another Start
He should, he did all right for a rookie. There were a few times it looked like the game was moving too fast for him, but let him finish out the season starting at L/T and he'll be a keeper. Personally, I liked when he dunked over the crossbar (sans football) on the Graham TD ... I thought "now here's a guy out there just enjoying his first start in the NFL", .

I'm pretty excited to see what he looks like with an entire off-season of NFL conditioning, and a full TC/Pre-season starting at LT. |

Re: Armstead To Get Another Start
Just give him some help because Tampa watched the Carolina game and they will be trying to attack any weakness they can.

Re: Armstead To Get Another Start
This is a sign he is our guy going forward and he needs the reps to learn. Charles Brown will make a solid backup but his abilities are limited. Armstead is raw but his abilities are much higher than Brown. An offseason, full camp and pre-season and he will seem like a different man.
